Stewardship
An underlying lesson from all three readings this
weekend is that the Risen Christ has wiped away our
sins, not only for individuals, but throughout the world
and its history. The terrible power of sin has now been
reversed and our coming to perfection through the love
of God is part of the Easter experience. As stewards of
God’s love we are called to participate in Christ’s
redemptive activity. The stewardship questions for us
are many: How do we resist injustice at home or in the
workplace? How do we confront violence in our
language and attitudes? How do we bring Christ to
others?

Third Sunday of Easter
The Risen Jesus stood in the midst of His disciples
that first Easter day in the flesh. He was not a figment
of their imagination nor was He a ghost from the realm
of the dead. He was alive, as foretold in the psalms
and by the prophets, and, most importantly, by the own
words during His time with them prior to His death. He
touched them and they touched Him. He ate with
them and extended His peace to them. As He had
done so often, the Lord Jesus was extending His
comfort and offering encouragement and support to
His disciples when they needed it most. The Risen
One encourages us with His resurrection and
commissions us likewise to be His witnesses by our
lives of service and evangelization. To do this we
must free ourselves all those things that enslave us to
this world and courageously go forth in the freedom of
the Risen One and face all people and all things that
defy the will of God. May we, especially during this
Easter Season, be renewed and strengthened in our
faith and give witness to Jesus who will remain with us
even in times of trouble.
I wish to extend my congratulations and those of
the entire parish to the second graders of our parish
school and the students of our PSR who are receiving
their First Holy Communion this morning. May they
always yearn for the Eucharistic Lord and seek always
to dwell in His Presence.
I wish to thank Mrs. Courtney Benson and Mrs.
Rose Shinn for their preparation of the students for
their First Holy Communion and for all of their efforts
for the Holy Hour this past Wednesday for the First
Communion candidates and their families.
On Sunday, May 3rd, the bi-annual Mass at St.
Peter Church, Brush Creek will be held at 1:00 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to attend this Mass at the
historical church on the site of the baptism of the
Servant of God, Fr. Augustine Tolton.
School News
The Holy Rosary Talent Show will be held on Friday,
April 24, beginning at 7:00 in Msgr. Connolly Gym.
Everyone is invited to come and see the "talent!"
Enrollment for Preschool Socialization and Pre
Kindergarten Classes is now open for any child that
will be three years of age or four years of age by July
31, 2015. Please call Donna Walker at 735-1016 or
735-4986 to enroll your child.
Track Meets - Monday, Apr. 20, at Monroe City;
Wednesday, Apr. 22, at Macon.
PTO Meeting will be held on Monday, April 27,
beginning at 7:00 in the school cafeteria. Members of
the Bellarmine Speech Team will be recognized.
Applications are being taken to select a person to
work in the school kitchen. Please contact Sr. Sue to
obtain an application.
Mass on Friday, April 24, at 8:20 will be led by
the sixth grade students.

Fourth Sunday of Easter
Acts of the Apostles 4:8-12 Peter explained to the
people that every good deed and all restoration to health
are accomplished in the name of Christ Jesus the
Nazorean, through whom all are saved.
Psalm 118: 1,8-9, 21-23, 26, 28,29 The stone rejected by
the builders has become the cornerstone.
1 John 3: 1-2 Believers are the dearly beloved children of
God who do not yet know what shall come to light. When it
does come to light, believers will be like God.
John 10:11-18 Jesus is the good shepherd who knows the
sheep. The Good Shepherd not only loves and protects
the sheep but is willing to lay down his life for the sheep.

CHMA
The Catholic Home Missions Appeal will take place next
week. One way that this appeal works to strengthen home
mission dioceses in the United States is by funding
seminarian formation in poor dioceses. The blessing of
seminarians places a financial burden on these dioceses,
where educating each seminarian costs $35-40K per year.
Your support is needed for these young men so that they
might go back and serve their parishes. Please strengthen
the Church at home by making a generous gift to next
week’s appeal.
CRHP Reunion Dinner
The CRHP reunion dinner will be May 2 after the 5:30pm
Mass. Adult Education will supply the drinks, CRHP
committee members bring a main dish, and others bring
side dishes.
Altar Society
Needed couple to assist altar society. The Altar Society at
Holy Rosary is actively seeking a couple to assist them with
some parish events. Please contact the parish office or

Holy Rosary Cemetery
There will be yard maintenance at Holy Rosary Cemetery
beginning immediately. If you have flowers or decorations

please pick them up and keep them until after May 1 . All
items left behind will be thrown away in preparation for
summer mowing.
Hospice in need of Volunteers
Hospice Compassus is seeking compassionate,
non-medical volunteers to provide support for terminally ill
patients and their families in your community. Through
friendly visits to the patient’s home or care center,
volunteers offer companionship and a caring presence.

Conception Abbey Easter Retreat
CENTERING PRAYER WORKSHOP
Holy Rosary Parish and Contemplative Outreach of Central
MO will host an Introduction to Centering Prayer Program on
April 25, 2015 from 9:00 am-1:00 pm in the KC Parish Hall. A
$25.00 donation will be appreciated for the entire seven part

Daughters of Isabella
The D of I will be meeting Thursday May 14, 2015 at 7:00 at

Right to Life Garage Sale
The Hannibal Right to Life chapter is holding its last annual
garage sale on May 21-23. Donations will be accepted at the
gymnasium on the HLGU campus on Mon, May 18-21 starting
at 8 am - 6pm. Please do not bring TV's, computers,
mattresses. We look forward to seeing you all for our last

Treat Mom to a night or weekend in which the staff and
monks of the Abbey Guest Center at Conception Abbey will
provide her with spiritual renewal and rest. She will join the
monks in daily prayer, have all her meals cooked for her and
she will be our special guest at a reception in her honor.

Registration for Camp Siena
Camp Siena is for young women entering freshman year
of high school through those who are entering their
senior year. It is committed to helping young Catholic
women deepen their relationship with God and others by
exercising, understanding, and living their unique feminine
spirituality and becoming the woman God is calling them to
be. Camp will be held at St. Patrick Church in Laurie, Mo.
on July 26 – July 30. Activities include: water and land
activities; Camp Wonderland; Camp Windermere Ropes
Course; Cooking and Crafts; daily adventures of many kinds
– with opportunities for service, singing, Sacraments and
