Please respect these guidelines. ◦ If you’re missing Topic 9 WS answers from Discussion, you may hand-copy answers at any Schaeffer Hall TA office hour. (You may see any TA, not just your own.) ◦ You may discuss the report with other students but your particular answers, MINITAB output, and written report must be your own. ◦ Use MINITAB 16 in the 41 Schaeffer Hall Computer Lab or other campus ITC’s or use the university’s Virtual Desktop. (Directions for Virtual Desktop are found on the Minitab Report 2 Pre-Assignment posted on the Minitab Reports page of the stats website.) 1 GRADING GUIDELINES: (100 points) • Report has valid time stamp, is stapled with answers that are legible and easy to read. (10 points) • Specific answers and included MINITAB output (77 points) • Base score (3 points) Introduction This report uses the credit-card example and data in the Topic 9 Notes and Worksheet. (If you’re missing Topic 9 WS answers from Discussion, you may stop by any Schaeffer Hall TA office hour to hand-copy them.) Use MINITAB to calculate the P -value. ◦ Write down the exact P -value from the MINITAB output (include all available decimal places) as the answer to this question. ◦ Copy and paste the relevant MINITAB output from the Session Window to the MINITAB Output Appendix. Label the output (Problem A1, etc.) for easy reading. 3. Make a decision and support it numerically. 4. Answer the following research question under Data Scenarios #1, #2, and #3: Question 3 Is the delinquency rate for Credit Card A lower than the historical delinquency rate of 30%? Use 5% significance for all tests and define the parameter p as p = proportion of all Credit Card A customers who are delinquent Tip: To confirm that your MINITAB steps are correct, consider calculating the P -value by hand and compare to MINITAB’s P -value. (But in your report you must provide the exact MINITAB P -value and document your MINITAB work by copying the relevant MINITAB output to the MINITAB Output Appendix.) • Problem B1 Answer Data Scenario #1, Question 3 using the same format (i.e. the same four steps) as used in Problem A questions. • Problem B2 Answer Data Scenario #2, Question 3 using the same format. • Problem B3 Answer Data Scenario #3, Question 3 using the same format.
