Campers will do some light upper body (push ups) and core (sit ups) work and will be given a routine they can do to get stronger at home with no weights that is age appropriate. Teams will be made on the first day. All kids will line up from shortest to tallest, each will get a number 1-8 and that will decide what team they are on (balanced out if necessary). Everyday will start with a warm up, transition into fundamental footwork and passing drills, then ball handling and shooting will be last. Each team will go to a goal and we will do defensive and offensive breakdown. Teaching the proper way to play both ends of the floor. The basics/ fundamentals. The last segment each day will be competition. 5 on 5, 3 on 3, 1 on 1 and hot shot. Coaches will track wins and losses, misses and makes in all competitions. Sportsmanship and respect are going to be enforced. Playing the game hard, as a team and the right way will always be the focus. The day will end with a cool down, camper of the day awards and money shots (kids shot 3s or half court shot for a prize, only one shot per kid) On Day 2,3 and 4 Coach Jackson will perform a personal workout between sessions for both groups so they can see what it takes to play at a high level. Also all middle school kids will get a handout about what it takes academically to get into college as an athlete. A meal will be provided for each kid at the end of the morning session each day and we will have short breaks for Gatorade, water, etc. Awards and t-shirts will be given at the end of the last day and Coach Jackson will stick around for any questions the parents may have.
