Memorial Plaza
Historical Society of Quincy
and Adams County
Lincoln Gallery
History is about Remembering and Honoring . . .
The Governor John Wood Memorial Plaza on the HSQAC 12th Street campus
provides members a way to memorialize predecessors and loved ones.
Memorial recognitions are awarded without charge when a member
first reaches the Builder ($100) level and/or the minimum amount for each higher
level.
Our unique cumulative giving program enables
members to qualify for the next memorial recognition at no charge when their accumulated membership contributions reach the next membership level. Members who
renew memberships at any qualifying level may buy any additional memorial pavers for the cost of the paver and inscription.

‘PRESERVING OUR PAST FOR OUR FUTURE’
Become a member of the Historical Society and make a dif-
ference! We are preserving the old public library for public use, the historic
Gov. John Wood Mansion, and an extensive collection of artifacts and documents that tell the story of how we became who we are. The Society’s school
programs, weekly column in the Herald-Whig, educational presentations,
interpretive exhibits in The History Museum and the Lincoln Gallery,
historical research, and collaborative efforts with other organizations all serve
our members and the community. Join in making history come to life!
