2015 Members Exhibition
Juror
This year’s juror is Gail Stavitsky, Chief Curator of the Montclair Art Museum,
Montclair, New Jersey. Since the beginning of her tenure there in 1994, she has
curated numerous exhibitions and written catalogue essays on many topics in
American art, including Reordering Reality: Precisionism in America 1915-1941
(1994), Waxing Poetic: Encaustic Art in America (1999), Will Barnet: A Timeless
World (2000), Cézanne and American Modernism (2009, in collaboration with
Katherine Rothkopf, Baltimore Museum of Art), Warhol and Cars: American Icons
(2011), The New Spirit: American Art in the Armory Show, and 100 Works for 100
Years: A Centennial Celebration. She also co-curated and contributed essays to
Conversion to Modernism: The Early Work of Man Ray (2003), Roy Lichtenstein:
American Indian Encounters (2005), and Reflecting Culture: The Evolution of
American Superheroes (2007), and Robert Smithson’s New Jersey (2014).
Eligibility
All current members of the Hunterdon Art Museum are invited to submit up to five
images of work completed in the last five years, and not previously exhibited at the
Museum. Two-dimensional work must not exceed 82 inches in height or width,
including frames. Three-dimensional work may not weigh more than 75 pounds, or
measure more than 82 inches in height or 30 inches in width or depth. Those who
are not current members may join when applying to the exhibition.
Entry Fee
A non-refundable fee of $40 is required of all participants. Entry fees are
necessary to cover the cost of organizing the exhibition.

Complete the downloaded entry form and email it to
[email protected], along with images of your artwork(s).
Please use “2015 Members Exhibition” as the subject line. Images should be in
JPEG format, no larger than 300 dpi at approximately 4 x 6 inches. Each image
should be titled with your last name and the title of the work (e.g.: Monet, Water
lilies.) Additionally, you must provide a separate document with the following for
each image submitted: title, year, medium, size. Please include additional
information such as bios, resumes, artist statements, etc. with your submission.
Also, please be sure to use your last name in the titles of all documents submitted.
Entries must be received by June 26, 2015.
By Mail:
Complete the downloaded entry form and mail it, along with the entry fee and
images of your artwork(s) on a CD to the attention of “2015 Members Exhibition.”
Images should be in JPEG format, no larger than 300 dpi at approximately 4 x 6
inches. Each image should be titled with your last name and the title of the work
(e.g.: Monet, Water lilies.) Additionally, you must provide a separate document
with the following for each image submitted: title, year, medium, size (this may be
placed on the same disc or printed and included). Please include additional
information such as bios, resumes, artist statements, etc. with your submission.
Also, please be sure to use your last name in the titles of all documents submitted
and label your CD with your name, email address and telephone number. CDs will
not be returned. Entries must be received by June 26, 2015.

Selection and Prizes
The Museum will notify artists of the juror’s selections on or about August 4, 2015
by email. A list of accepted artists will also be posted on the Museum’s website.
The Juror will select one artist as the recipient of a solo exhibition in the Museum’s
River Gallery to be held during next year’s Members Exhibition. Additionally, a
Hunterdon Art Museum prize of $100 will be awarded.
Reproduction
The Hunterdon Art Museum reserves the right to reproduce any work accepted for
the exhibition for use in publicity materials.
The Museum’s programs are made possible in part by funds from the New
Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the
National Endowment for the Arts, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation,
Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission, corporations, foundations,
and individuals. The Hunterdon Art Museum is a wheelchair accessible space.
Publications are available in large print. Patrons who are deaf, hard of hearing
Delivery and Return
All work must be hand-delivered, in ready-to-exhibit condition to the Museum, by
the dates outlined in the calendar. The Museum will provide insurance for works
that are physically present at the Museum or under the care, custody or control of
an authorized HAM employee or representative, for the insurance value stated
unless otherwise advised. Artists are responsible for insurance during transport to
and from the Museum.
NOTE: The Museum will produce a postcard announcement for the exhibition. Artists who
wish to produce individual announcement cards may do so at their own expense; however,
any such cards must be clearly identified as a product of the artist, not the Museum.
