A statistic data of serious accident as well as accident in Indonesia showed a significant accident rate. INACA Operation and Technique, therefore would like to issue a “Safety Notice” as part of our awareness in promoting a safety among INACA member as well as to alert all Indonesia operators to the following recommendations. INACA Recommendation Airport - Airport must inform the cockpit crew concerning the 3 (three) categories of “Breaking Action” that published by ICAO i.e. Good, Medium and Poor in conjunction with landing on wet or contaminated runway, while in extreme condition with a standing water above 3 (three) millimeter, it shall be declared as “Runway Contaminated”. Airline Operation - Before landing on wet or contaminated runway, pilot must request a breaking action to the controller in order to determine a landing distance in accordance with Aircraft Flight Manual. - The cockpit crews have to optimize the usage of the engine thrust reverser system to maximize aircraft deceleration. - The cockpit crews have to ensure that reported weather condition and visibility at destination airport meet their minimum requirement. - The cockpit crew shall fully comply with manufacture recommendation for landing in wet or contaminated runway Technical - During the rainy season the aircraft shall always be operated with the serviceable antiskid system - The remaining tire groves shall be at least 2 mm depth as to minimize the possible of hydroplaning during landing on wet or contaminated runway - The tire pressure shall be properly maintained and periodically check as recommended by aircraft manufacture Technical & Operation Dr. Ir.
