CARACTERÍSTICAS
• La grabadora digital de voz estéreo permite hacer grabaciones de audio confiables, así
como reproducirlas en cualquier momento y pasarlas a la computadora por medio de su
puerto micro USB.
• Incorpora función de segmentación o almacenamiento en carpetas diferentes para
organizar mejor las grabaciones, así como hasta 6 niveles de calidad de grabación.
• Tiene pantalla LCD a color, dos micrófonos internos para grabación estéreo, altavoz,
salida de audífono y entrada de micrófono externo, ranura de expansión para memorias
micro USB y memoria interna de 4 GB. Incluye un accesorio para realizar grabaciones de
llamadas telefónicas.

BATERÍAS/ENCENDIDO APAGADO
1. Abra el compartimento de baterías en la parte posterior de la grabadora e inserte dos pilas
AAA, ponga atención a la polaridad y coloque de nuevo la tapa.
2. Para encender la grabadora, presione el botón [reproducir/OK] durante tres segundos.
Presione el mismo botón por otros tres segundos para apagarla.
La grabadora de voz puede ser alimentada también vía USB (la batería no se
recarga).

AJUSTES GENERALES
1. Para ajustar la fecha y la hora, presione el botón F2 para ingresar al Menú de Ajustes
(MenuSetting), elija la opción Establecer sistemas con las flechas y confirme con OK.

2. Dentro del menú Establecer sistemas, elija la opción System Time con el botón OK, y
ajuste la fecha y la hora con las flechas arriba y abajo. Cuando haya terminado de ajustar
una opción, pase a la siguiente con la flecha derecha.
3. Presione OK para guardar la configuración.

4. Dentro del menú Establecer sistemas, elija la opción Calendar Info con el botón OK, la
pantalla mostrará la información ingresada en la opción System Time.
5. Presione F3 para regresar al Menú principal.

6. Dentro del menú Establecer sistemas, elija la opción LCD conjunto para seleccionar el
tiempo que durará encendida la luz de la pantalla, elija el tiempo en segundos en múltiplos
de cinco (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 y 30 s). Presione OK para confirmar.
7. Presione F3 para regresar al Menú principal.

8. Para seleccionar el idioma, en el
Menú de Ajustes elija de nuevo la
opción Establecer sistemas y dentro
de éste, la opción idioma.
Seleccione el idioma que desee con
las flechas y confirme el ajuste con el
botón OK.

9. Para seleccionar el tiempo de
apagado / pausa de la grabadora elija
de nuevo la opción Establecer sistemas
y dentro de éste, la opción Apagado.
• Fuera de tiempo. Tiempo en que se
apaga la grabadora, elija el tiempo en
segundos (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60).
• Tiempo de sueño. Tiempo en que
se pausa la pantalla. Elija el tiempo en
segundos (0, 30, 60, 90, 120).
10. Para conocer los datos de la memoria de la REC-850 y verificar la capacidad utilizada
ingrese a la opción Memoria Info.
11. Versión de firmware. Al ingresar a esta opción, la pantalla
desplegará la información del firmware que utiliza la grabadora.
12. Actualización de firmware. En esta opción podrá encontrar los archivos de la grabadora
almacenados en folders/carpetas. Elija la opción Actualización de firmware seguido de Intro
folder. Seleccione la opción deseada:
- ROOT
- MUSIC
- DVR_A
- DVR_B
- DVR_C
- DVR_D
- DVR_E
- PHOTO
- System Volume Inf

13. Default set. Utilice esta opción para habilitar o deshabilitar la configuración
predeterminada de la grabadora.
14. Presione Sí si desea habilitar la configuración predeterminada y presione OK para
configurar.

15. Disk Format. Seleccione YES para formatear el disco.
16. Memory select. Selección de memoria.
• Índice principal. Para almacenaje interno de la
grabadora.
• Índice de tarjeta. Almacenaje en memoria externa.

GRABACIÓN
1. Para iniciar la grabación, simplemente tiene que
presionar el botón REC. Cuando desee que la grabación
pare, presiónelo nuevamente. Si desea pausar la grabación,
presione el botón PAUSE.
El LED indicador parpadeará. presione PAUSE nuevamente
para continuar.
2. Puede elegir entre cinco fólderes distintos para guardar sus
grabaciones; para seleccionar uno, presione el botón F1, elija
con las flechas el fólder que desee y confirme la selección con
OK.

3. Para seleccionar la memoria en la que se guardarán las
grabaciones, ingrese al Menú de Ajustes (MenuSettings)
presionando F2, elija con las flechas la opción Establecer
sistemas e ingrese presionando OK.
Dentro de este submenú elija con la flechas la opción Memory
Select e ingrese con OK, ahí podrá seleccionar entre el Índice
principal (memoria interna de la grabadora) e Índice de tarjeta
(memoria de tarjeta externa), confirme su selección con el
botón OK.
4. Para seleccionar el modo de ajuste de la grabación ingrese
al Menú de Ajustes (MenuSettings) y seleccione Rec Set.

Dentro de este submenú elija con la flechas las
opciones que desee establecer:
• REC tipo. Elija el formato de grabación: PCM REC,
ADPCM REC o MP3 REC.
• Record From. Seleccione la fuente de la grabación;
desde un micrófono externo (Tel Rec) o línea
telefónica (Line in)
• Rec Scene. Seleccione el escenario de grabación:
en sala (Hall Mode), Exteriores (Outdoors), entrevista
(Gather news), habitación (Room mode).
• Rec VOR. Seleccione para realizar una grabación
automática.
• Rec Monitor. Puede abrir el modo de grabación
(OPEN) o cerrar (CLOSE).
• Rec Light. Puede abrir el modo de grabación
(OPEN) o cerrar (CLOSE).

ALARMA
Para programar una alarma, ingrese al Menú de ajustes (MenuSettings) seguido de Timer
Set. Presione New y Alarm. Seleccione la frecuencia de uso: sólo una vez (Onlyonce),
todos los días, (Daily), seleccione por día específico de la semana (Weekdays).
Ajuste la fecha y la hora con las flechas arriba y abajo. Cuando haya terminado de ajustar
una opción, pase a la siguiente con la flecha derecha. Confirme la selección con OK.
Realice la configuración de las alarmas de acuerdo a sus necesidades.

TEMPORIZADOR
Esta función programa la grabadora para que comience una grabación a una hora
determinada durante un tiempo específico. Para programar el modo de grabación con
temporizador ingrese nuevamente al Menú de ajustes (MenuSettings) seguido de Timer
Set. Presione New y Timer Record.
Ajuste la fecha y la hora con las flechas arriba y abajo. Cuando haya terminado de ajustar
una opción, pase a la siguiente con la flecha derecha. Confirme la selección con OK.
Realice la configuración del temporizador de acuerdo a sus necesidades.

AJUSTES DE MÚSICA
• Repita. Seleccione el ciclo de repetición de la música:
Normal, Repetir una, Repetir todas, Carpeta, Repetir
carpeta, aleatorio
• Ecualizador. Seleccione el tipo de sonido con que
desea reproducir la música: Natural, Rock, Pop,
Classic, Suave, Jazz, Wow, Sound.
• Tempotasa: Seleccione la velocidad de reproducción
de la música, siendo el más lento -8 y 8 el más rápido.
• Replay: Seleccione el número de repeticiones, utilice
las flechas adelante/atrás para seleccionar del 1 a10 y
presione OK para confirmar.
• Repita brecha. Seleccione el intervalo entre
repeticiones de 1 a 10, utilice las flechas adelante/atrás
y presione OK para confirmar.

GRABACIÓN CON UN MICRÓFONO EXTERNO
1. Conecte el micrófono externo incluido en la entrada
correspondiente.
2. Entre al Menú de ajustes (MenuSetting) presionando el
botón F2 y seleccione la opción Rec Set con las flechas,
presione OK para ingresar.

3. Dentro del submenú Rec Set, seleccione con las flechas
la opción Record From e ingrese con OK.
4. Elija la opción Line In con las flechas y confirme el ajuste
con OK.
5. Para iniciar y detener la grabación simplemente presione
REC.

GRABACIÓN DESDE UNA LÍNEA TELEFÓNICA
1. Conecte la grabadora al teléfono mediante el filtro y el cable auxiliar incluidos.

2. Entre al Menú de ajustes (MenuSetting) presionando el
botón F2 y seleccione la opción Rec Set con las flechas,
presione OK para ingresar.
3. Dentro del submenú Rec Set, seleccione con las flechas
la opción Record From e ingrese con OK.
4. Elija la opción Tel Rec con las flechas y confirme el ajuste
con OK.
5. Para iniciar y detener la grabación simplemente presione
REC.

REPRODUCCIÓN DE GRABACIONES
1. Para reproducir las grabaciones, seleccione el fólder
presionando F1 en el que haya guardado los archivos y
seleccione uno con las flechas derecha/izquierda. Presione
[reproducir/OK] para iniciar la reproducción.
2. Para detener la reproducción presione PAUSE.
ELIMINAR GRABACIONES
1. Para eliminar una o todas las grabaciones, seleccione el fólder en el que haya archivos y
seleccione uno con las flechas.

2. Una vez que seleccionó una grabación, presione el botón
ERASE. Para borrar un solo archivo elija la opción Eliminar
archivo, y posteriormente el archivo que desea eliminar.
Confirme sus selecciones con el botón OK.
3. Para eliminar todas las grabaciones de un fólder
seleccione la opción Borrar todos; confirme con el botón
OK, aparecerá “yes” y “no”. Seleccione “yes” para confirmar.

Esta póliza garantiza el producto por el término de un año en todas sus partes y mano de obra, contra
cualquier defecto de fabricación y funcionamiento, a partir de la fecha de entrega.
CONDICIONES
1.- Para hacer efectiva la garantía, presente esta póliza y el producto, en donde fue adquirido o en
Electrónica Steren S.A. de C.V.
2.- Electrónica Steren S.A de C.V. se compromete a reparar el producto en caso de estar defectuoso sin
ningún cargo al consumidor. Los gastos de transportación serán cubiertos por el proveedor.
3.- El tiempo de reparación en ningún caso será mayor a 30 días, contados a partir de la recepción del
producto en cualquiera de los sitios donde pueda hacerse efectiva la garantía.
4.- El lugar donde puede adquirir partes, componentes, consumibles y accesorios, así como hacer válida esta
garantía es en cualquiera de las direcciones mencionadas posteriormente.
ESTA PÓLIZA NO SE HARÁ EFECTIVA EN LOS SIGUIENTES CASOS:
1.- Cuando el producto ha sido utilizado en condiciones distintas a las normales.
2.- Cuando el producto no ha sido operado de acuerdo con el instructivo de uso.
3.- Cuando el producto ha sido alterado o reparado por personal no autorizado por Electrónica Steren S.A.
de C.V.
El consumidor podrá solicitar que se haga efectiva la garantía ante la propia casa comercial donde adquirió
el producto. Si la presente garantía se extraviara, el consumidor puede recurrir a su proveedor para que le
expida otra póliza, previa presentación de la nota de compra o factura respectiva.

BATTERIES/POWER
1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the recorder and insert two AAA batteries,
pay attention to the polarity and replace the lid.
2. To turn on the recorder, press the [play / OK] button for three seconds.
Press the same button for another three seconds to turn it off.
The voice recorder can be powered also via USB (the battery will not charge).

GENERAL SETTINGS
1. To adjust the date and time, press the F2 button to enter the settings menu, choose the
option with the arrow keys and confirm with OK.

2. Within the system menu, choose the Clock Set option with the OK button, and adjust the
date and time with the arrows up and down. When you have finished setting an option, pass
to the next one using the right arrow.
3. Press OK to save the settings.

4. In the Sys Set menu, press OK to choose the option Calendar Info, then the screen will
show the data entered at the System Time option.
5. Press F3 to return to the Main Menu.

6. In the Sys Set menu, choose the option LCD set to select the time the screen will remain
on, choose multiples of 5 seconds (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 s). Press OK to confirm.
7. Press F3 to return to the Main Menu.

8. To select the language, go to Menu
Set, then to Sys Set and next choose
the Language option.
Select the language you want with the
up/down arrows and confirm with OK.
9. To set the time out and the timer, go
to Sys Set and then to Power off.
• Time out. The time in which the
recorder is turned off, choose the time
in seconds (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60).
• Timer. The time in which the screen
pauses, choose the time in seconds (0,
30, 90, 120).

10. For data of the memory in the REC-850 and to verify capacity utilization enter the
Memory Info option.
11. Firmware version. Enter this option to see the info from the
firmware version
12. Soft update. In this option you will find the files from the recorder stored in folders. Select
the Soft update option followed by Enter folder. Select the desired option:
- ROOT
- MUSIC
- DVR_A
- DVR_B
- DVR_C
- DVR_D
- DVR_E
- PHOTO
- System Volume Inf

13. Default set. Use this option to enable or disable the default settings of the recorder.
14. Press YES to enable the default settings, press OK to confirm.

15. Disk Format. Select YES to format the disk.
16. Memory select. Choose the storage memory.
• Local folder. Internal storage in the recorder.
• Card folder. External memory storage.

RECORDING
1. To start recording, simply press the REC button. When
you want to stop recording, press it again. If you want to
pause recording press the PAUSE button.
The indicator LED will blink. Press PAUSE againto resume
recording.
2. You can choose between five different folders to store your
recordings; to select one, press the F1 button, choose the folder
that you want and confirm the selection with OK.

3. To select the memory in which recordings will be saved, enter
the settings menu by pressing F2, select with the arrow keys set
up systems and enter by pressing OK.
Within this submenu select with the arrows option Memory
Select and enter OK, there you can select between the main
folder (the recorder’s internal memory) and card folder (external
card memory), confirm your selection with the OK button.
4. To select the recording setting mode recording enter the
Menu Settings and select Rec Set.

Choose Menu Set, then Rec Set. Move through the
options with the up/down arrows:
• REC type. Choose the recording type: PCM REC,
ADPCM REC o MP3 REC.
• Rec source. Select the
microphone, Line in, Tel Rec.

Outdoors, Gather news, Room mode.
• Rec VOR. Select to set an automatic recording.
• Rec Monitor. Open or close the recording mode.
• Rec Light. Open or close the recording mode.

ALARM
To set an alarm, enter the Menu Set, and then Timer set. Press New and then Alarm.
Select the use frequency: Onlyonce, Daily, or a specific day in Weekdays.
Set the date and time using the up and down arrows. When you have finished setting an
option, go to the next one with the right arrow. Confirm with OK.
Set the alarm according to your needs.

TIMER
This function programs the recorder to start functioning at a specified hour for a specific
time. To program the timer recording mode enter the Set Menu, then Timer Set. Press New
and Timer Record.
Set the date and time using the up and down arrows. When you have finished setting an
option, go to the next one with the right arrow. Confirm with OK.
Set the timer according to your needs.

Music adjustments
• Cycle. Select the repetition cycle for the music:
Normal, Repeat One, Repeat All, Folder, Repeat Folder,
Random.
• Equalizer. Select the type of sound you want to play
the music: Natural, Rock, Pop, Classic, Soft, Jazz, Wow,
Sound.
• Tempo rate: Select the playback speed of music, the
slowest is -8 and 8 the fastest.
• Repeat: Select the number of repetitions, use the
arrow forward / backward to select from 1 to 10 and
press OK to confirm.
• Repeat interval. Select the range from 1-10
repetitions, use the arrows forward/back and press OK
to confirm.

RECORDING WITH AN EXTERNAL
MICROPHONE
1. Connect the external microphone included with the
corresponding entry.
2. Enter the settings menu by pressing the F2 button and
select the Rec Set option with the arrow keys, press OK to
enter.

3. Within the Rec Set submenu, with arrows select REC
source and press OK.
4. Choose the Line In option with the arrow keys and confirm
with OK.
5. To start and stop recording just press REC.

RECORDING FROM A TELEPHONE LINE
1. Connect the recorder to the phone using the filter and auxiliary cable included.

2. Enter the settings menu by pressing the F2 button and
select the Rec Set option with the arrow keys, press OK to
enter.
3. Within the Rec Set submenu, with arrows select REC
source and press OK.
4. Choose Tel Rec with the arrow keys and confirm with OK.
5. To start and stop recording just press REC.

RECORDINGS PLAYBACK
1. To play the recordings, select the folder in which there are
files by pressing F1 and the arrow keys. Press [play / OK] to
start playback.
2. To stop the playback press PAUSE.
DELETE RECORDINGS
1. To delete one or all recordings, select the folder where there are files and select one with
the arrow keys.

2. Once you have selected a recording, press the button
ERASE. To delete a single file, select the option delete
file, and then the file that you want to delete. Confirm your
selection with the OK button.
3. To delete all recordings in a folder select the option delete
all; confirm with the OK button.

WARRANTY
This Steren product is warranted under normal usage against defects in workmanship
and materials to the original purchaser for one year from the date of purchase.
CONDITIONS
1. This warranty card with all the required information, invoice, product box or
package, and product, must be presented when warranty service is required.
2. If the product is in the warranty time, the company will repair it free of charge.
3. The repairing time will not exceed 30 natural days, from the day the claim was
received.
4. Steren sell parts, components, consumables and accessories to customer, as well
as warranty service, at any of the addresses mentioned later.

THIS WARRANTY IS VOID IN THE NEXT CASES:
If the product has been damaged by an accident, acts of God, mishandling, leaky
batteries, failure to follow enclosed instructions, improper repair by unauthorized
