Directions
Be entertained by Woodhorn’s varied and exciting
programme of temporary exhibitions including the best
of the region’s photography, arts and crafts; inspirational
contemporary art from respected artists; and revealing
exhibitions derived from Northumberland Archives’.
Just 20 minutes north of Newcastle Upon Tyne on the
A189, 20 minutes south of Alnwick on the A1068/A189,
and 15 minutes east from Morpeth on the A197. Head for
Ashington and then watch for brown and white signs to
guide you. Sat nav could lead you astray!
Enjoy great events too with the annual Northumberland
Miners’ Picnic on 13th June, History Fair on 25th October,
and the Christmas Fair and Winter Weekend on 5th and
6th December 2015, plus birds of prey displays, children’s
craft activities and much more. And don’t miss the super
block buster exhibitions. See the awesome Brick Planet*
February - 22 March & 1 April - 31 May 2015.

Delve into the past
Dig into your own history by visiting Northumberland
Archives at Woodhorn. From church records and maps to
letters and photographs, 800 years of the county’s past is
waiting for you to piece your own story together. Visit the
website or ask about how to plan your first visit.
Relax
Take a walk round the beautiful country park; it’s a great
place to see red squirrels. The Narrow Gauge Railway
which operates most weekends is one of their favourite
spots. Reward yourself in the café with a cuppa and slice of
home-made cake before browsing a delightful selection of
unique Woodhorn gifts, books and local crafts in our shop.

Almost all of the buildings and facilities at Woodhorn are
accessible. We have 2 wheelchairs and a mobility scooter
to assist visitors, and specific parking is available to Blue
Badge Holders (normal parking charge applies).

documentary footage of the men talking about their lives
