CAMPS Before and After Care: Pre-registration is required. Activities and games will be provided. Before Care: 8 – 9 a.m.; $20 per week ($4 per day) After Care: 3 – 5:30 p.m.; $35 per week ($7 per day) SUMMER CAMPS Combined Before and After Care: $55 per week ($11 per day) Lunch/Snacks: Campers should bring their own non-refrigerated lunches and two snacks. Build It Camp June 15 – 19; 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Ages: 9 – 14 Cost: $125 members; $150 non-members– Max: 25 Registration Deadline: June 1, 2015 Design your dream city. Participants will learn how to build architectural masterpieces, plan their cities and construct viable bridges. Exploring Indianapolis’ architecture and interacting with architects, historic preservationists and civil engineers are a few of the ways campers will be inspired while creating a city they can call their own. Crime Scene Indiana State Museum Camp June 22 – 26; 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Ages: 10 – 13 Cost: $125 members; $150 non-members– Max: 30 Registration Deadline: June 8, 2015 Pieces of valuable art are missing from the museum! Think you have the skills to find the crooks? Use your powers of deduction to become a super sleuth as you solve this and other mysteries. As the lead investigator on the case, you will examine evidence, lift fingerprints and analyze mock crime scenes. Investigators will see how insects can be used at a crime scene, meet professional forensic experts and discover the science behind investigative techniques. Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be given if the child is withdrawn from camp less than two weeks before the camp’s start date. Sibling Discount: $5 additional discount for siblings attending the same camp. First child in family pays full price. Additional children receive $5 off. All reservations must be done together. Camp July 6 – 10; 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Ages: 8 - 12 Cost: $125 members; $150 non-members – Max: 30 Registration Deadline: June 15, 2015 Diggin’ IN Camp July 13 – 17; 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Ages: 8 - 13 Cost: $125 members; $150 non-members– Max: 30 Registration Deadline: June 29, 2015 If you’ve ever wanted to create your own clothes or make your mark on your closet, Indiana Fashion Runway camp is the place to learn how. Discover how to create your own designs, make a pattern and complete a totally unique garment. Use tools of the trade and explore the museum’s collection of clothing and costumes. See if you have the skills to become Indiana’s next fashion star! From how to build a cabin to what Hoosier life was like during the Civil War, campers will experience what life was like during the 19th and early 20th centuries through a series of hands-on activities. Campers will “pack” their own wagon for the journey west to Indiana, interact with historical re-enactors and characters, and see first-hand how the Indiana State Museum preserves the Indiana story. Put on your boots, get in the dirt and unearth Indiana’s past. Be an archaeologist for the week and manage your own dig site. Get your hands messy while learning to surface collect, map sites and work with artifacts. Discover how people lived by studying the things they left behind. Exploring Nature Camp June 8 – 12; 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Ages: 6 - 9 Cost: $125 members; $150 non-members– Max: 30 Registration Deadline: May 25, 2015 Eco Explorers Camp July 6 – 10; 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. - Ages: 9 - 12 Cost: $185 members; $210 non-members—Max 30 Registration deadline: June 22, 2015 Get ready to have a close encounter with the wonders of the natural world. Join the Indiana State Museum and the Earth Discovery Center at Eagle Creek Park as we discover the fossils, plants and wildlife found in our city’s parks and backyards. Campers will explore Ice Age fossils, native species and learn how to protect their environment. Campers will have the opportunity to put that knowledge into practice at Eagle Creek Park through hiking and exploring pond life before cooling off in a crazy creek stomp! From habitat hikes to getting down in the dirt, campers will explore nature from the ground up. Campers will discover how the environment has changed from when the pioneers settled Indiana to how it looks today. Using field techniques such as water and soil testing, hiking an urban safari, and practicing wilderness skills, campers will learn how to protect our natural resources for the future. *Completion of Exploring Nature Camp is not required. Science of the Circus Camp July 20 – 24; 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Ages: 10 - 14 Cost: $125 members; $150 non-members– Max: 30 Registration Deadline: July 6, 2015 Calling all Roustabouts and Ringmasters! Come explore life Under the Big Top! Sharpen your skills as a juggler, magician or clown and discover the science behind some of the most spectacular circus acts. Hands-on studies, popcorn science and a pie throwing contest all combine to create an exciting and memorable camp. The grand finale comes at the end of the week as campers put together their own circus showcase for friends and family.
