2015-2016 Teacher Request
April 13th through April 17th
Teacher Request Forms will be available upon request in the Indian Woods office. You may also use
this form to share information regarding your child’s emotional or learning needs without specifying a
teacher name. All forms will be due no later than April 17th, 2015. Any form turned in after the due
date can not be considered.
We encourage you to allow our staff to determine your child’s teacher for the coming school year.
Teachers consider many factors when placing your child in a classroom. As most of our grade levels
departmentalize for two subjects, your child will likely have both teachers in their day.
As in the past, due to teacher staffing requirements, the teacher that you have requested may not be
staffed in the same building or grade level the next school year.
Fourth Grade is learning Water Safety this month. Each Fourth Grade class will be traveling to the
YMCA to participate in the event. Mrs. Sanchez’s class will be going on Friday, April 17th and Mrs.
VanderGraaff’s class will be going on Friday, April 24th.
PTA News
Indian Woods PTA will be having a fundraiser at Jimmy’s Frozen Custard
on

May 4 , from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. We will receive 20% of all proceeds during that time, so please stop
by for a great treat and help support the Indian Woods PTA!
5th Grade Information

Orientation
5th Grade Parent Orientation for Fort Gratiot Middle School will be on Tuesday, May 5th at 6:00 p.m. in
the Cafeteria. Beginning Band Orientation Meeting will be approximately at 6:30 p.m. following the
parent orientation.
Teacher Request
Fort Gratiot Middle School deadline for teacher requests is Thursday, April 23rd. Requests should be
limited to one teacher, must be in writing, signed, and dated. No phone calls or e-mail requests,
please.
CENTRAL MIDDLE SCHOOL
5th Grade Rec Night for future
Central students
Friday, May 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Central Middle School. There is NO cost for students.
What can students do? See the building, board games, ping pong, pool, basketball and video games.
5th Grade Parent
Orientation
Parents are invited for an evening of information regarding Central’s academic programs and school
activities. The meeting will be Friday, May 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Media Center. This
meeting will be at the same time that your student is enjoying their rec night.

Teacher Request
Each request must be dated on or before May 1st. They may be dropped off at Central Middle
School in the main office, scanned and e-mailed to the principal, Mrs. Davis at [email protected], or
faxed to the counselors at 1-810-958-0487.
(M-STEP replaces the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP))
The M-Step will take place beginning Tuesday, April 14th through Thursday, April 23rd for 5th Grade,
Tuesday, April 28th through Thursday, May 7th for 4th Grade and Tuesday, May 19th through May 28th
for 3rd Grade.
