SureCross® Wireless Q45 Vibration/Temperature Sensor Demo Kit SureCross Wireless DK-Q45VT Demo Kit Setup Instructions SureCross Wireless Q45 Vibration/Temperature Sensor Demo Kit Banner’s Wireless Vibration/Temperature Sensor QM42VT1 offers an effective method for measuring key machine parameters that enables users to implement an effective predictive maintenance program. The ISO 10816 standard provides guidance for acceptable levels of vibration severity. The QM42VT1 sensor produces outputs that directly reference the ISO standard. After the Wireless Q45 Node links to the Gateway (automatic), the green LED blinks to indicate the wireless connection to the Gateway. The Node is now providing output data every five minutes. To put the Node into 1 second fast sample mode for 15 minutes, single click the button on the Q45. To take the sensor out of fast sample mode, click the Q45 button five times. The sensor’s output displays on the Gateway’s LCD screen. I/O 1 register displays the vibration in RMS velocity in/sec (register value/10000). For example, if I/O 1 displays 1500, the RMS velocity is 1500/10000 or 0.15 in/sec. Refer to the DX80Q45VT datasheet for complete register information. The Wireless Q45 Node has a yellow and red indicator light on the front of the unit that flashes when the preset threshold is achieved. The default thresholds are 0.15 in/sec (yellow) and 80 °C (red). Change these values using the Wireless Q45 Node’s DIP switches or the User Configuration Tool (UCT). To minimize false alarms, three consecutive samples above the threshold must be measured before the indicator lights turn on. Binding and Assigning a Node Address to Wireless Q45 Sensor These kits were bound at the factory. There should be no need to run the binding procedure unless you want to add a second Wireless Q45 Sensor to your demonstration network. 1.Apply power to the Gateway using either power supply. 2.On the Gateway, enter binding mode by triple-clicking button 2. Both LEDs flash red. 3.On the Gateway, assign the Node ID to the Q45 using the rotary dials. Use the left rotary dial for the left digit and the right rotary dial for the right digit. For example, to assign your Q45 to Node 02, set the left dial to 0 and the right dial to 2. This kit’s Gateway is pre-wired and the I/O is mapped to use Node 01 and Node 02. Node 01 is mapped to use the green LED; Node 02 is mapped to use the red LED. 4.Loosen the clamp plate on the top of the Wireless Q45 Sensor and lift the cover. 5.On the Wireless Q45 Sensor, enter binding mode by triple-clicking the button. While in binding mode, the red and green LEDs flash alternately. The sensor automatically searches for a Gateway in binding mode. After the Q45 is bound, the LEDs stay solid momentarily. Then they flash together four times before automatically exiting binding mode. 6.On the Gateway, exit binding mode by single-clicking button 2. The network is completely formed after all radios exit binding mode. Conducting a Site Survey from the Gateway’s Menu System Use the Gateway to conduct a Site Survey. 1.Select the Q45 Node ID using the Gateway’s rotary dials. To evaluate Q45 01, set the Gateway’s rotary dials to “0” and “1.” 2.Single click button 1 to move across the menu levels until you reach *SITE. 3.After reaching the *SITE menu, single click button 2 to enter the *SITE menu. 4.Single click button 2 to begin conducting a Site Survey with the Q45 Node ID selected in step 1.
