Dear Members,
Alhamdulillah, the Holy and sacred month of Ramadan passed by bringing loads of
blessings and benedictions for us for which we are thankful to the Almighty. The fervor
and excitement of Eid ul fitr’s preparation is at its peak and we wholeheartedly pray to
Allmighty that all our members enjoy the festive occasion with their families with full
enthusiasm, safety and happiness.
This year members indulgence in Sehri and Iftar at the club was unprecedented, partially
owing to law and order situation in city and rest due to excellent and ellaborate
arrangements made by the Kitchen Convenor.
Publication's annual Qirat Competition was a thorough success and hats off to my
Committee members who worked diligently to acheive it.
The club’s upcoming events for the month of August 2013 are vibrant, entertaining and
enjoyable as we have the Eid Milan Party and Independence Day celebration to amuse,
recreate and cheer the members and their families.
Towards end of July our renovated Billiard Room was inaugurated. This state of the
art billiard room is being termed as one of the best in Pakistan & will facilitate the
members with this executive game.
On behalf of the Publication Committee, I express my sincere gratitude and association
with the members who have extended support, shown appreciation and positive reception
to all the events that have been organized by the club for the dear members and their
families.

Naat Khawani
Living up to tradition of holding annual
Mehfil-e-Naat at main club, same was
organized this year on 19th July. Selected
evening being over a Ramadan weekend
attracted a large number of Members.
Beautiful stage was set up for this purpose
and excellent arrangements were made.
Renowned Naat Khawans, Al Haj Siddique
Esmail, Al Haj Ovais Qadri, Syed Furqan
Qadri, and Syed Rehan Qadri recited Naats
in honour of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w) . The
program ended with a Dua which was
conducted by Allama Liaquat. The program
was attended by our Honorary Secretary,
Jawed H. Karim; and other senior members
of the club including Mr. Abdul Hameed
Oza.
KC Swimming Competition - Beginners
It was heartening to see young toddlers
paddling away laboriously to finish the 25
m length of Karachi Club Main Swimming
Pool. This was the scene witnessed at the
KC Swimming Competition for Beginners
held on 5th July. Swimming Pool
Committee headed by Munaf Mehenti
deserves commendation for encouraging
so many young boys and girls to participate
in a swimming competition for the first
time in their lives. As many as 80 young
members participated in two strokes and
were divided in age and gender groups.
Zakaria Usman, a senior member of the
club was the Chief Guest on the occasion
who gave away the medals to the winners.

Fear is a natural reaction to moving closer to the truth
KC Swimming Championship - Regular
Karachi Club is proud of its swimmers who have brought laurels
for the club in recent years. The swimmers of the club train
regularly at our two pools under supervision and guidance of
Trainers and Coaches. Annual event in the swimming calendar
of the club features KC Swimming Championship for Regular
swimmers. The line up was indeed impressive as several National
and Junior National swimmers participated. Championship was
held on 6th July at the Main Club Pool. Competition was fearsome
in 98 events in all four strokes and medley. Large number of
members were present to appreciate our swimmers. Ashfaq Tola,
President of the Club and Aamir Abdullah Zaki, Acting Honorary
Secretary gave away the prizes to the winners and Group
Champions.

Opening of refurbished Billiard Room
It was the vision of Saifuddin Madraswala, Convener Sports Committee to transform the Billiard room of the club from
a "good to excellent" Billiard Room of not only Local, National but International Level that the Billiard Room at the Karachi
Club Main was refurbished and tastefully decorated.
A special allocation of the budget was made and a team of professionals were called upon to do the job. All the
accessories replaced were bought from the reputable international suppliers as it was the aim of the convener to make
one of the best billiard Room conceivable.
The work was completed in a short span of 6 weeks, during which the members had to bear the inconvenience of playing
the game in other rooms of the club.
The Inauguration was conducted by Javed H. Karim, Honorary Secretary of the Club along with Ashfaq Tola, President
of the Club. The importance of the event can be judged from the presence of almost all the Managing Committee
members along with several Ex Presidents and Ex Honorary Secretaries of the Club, namely, Rafiq Suleman, Majid
Khandwala, Ayub Bawany and Yousuf Suleman along with several other senior members of the club. Regular players
of the game were present too at the time of the opening ceremony.

FUZON NIGHT - CONCERT
A renowned Pakistani Pop Band ‘Fuzon’ gave
exhilarating live performance of their legendary
tunes on 6th July at KC (Main). It was a well
attended musical session by club members,
mainly the youth and younger lot.
The audience enjoyed the tunes to the hilt, as
their being no intrusion by the non-members,
whose entry was effectively blocked by the KC
security staff.
All times popular songs were sung by Fuzon’s
new vocalist, Muhammad Akram and the music
was played by Shallum - the great Guitarist,
along with Emu - one of the finest Keyboarders,
and other members of the Fuzon group. The
enchanted audience rocked to ever green
melodies. The music, its unique presentation
and the ambiance kept the crowd spell bound,
and glued to their seats. The culminating point
came when the youngsters started dancing with
the rhythmical beats of the band.
Having attended Fuzon Night, The Club
Members are quit eager on reoccurrence of
such programs organized by Entertainment
Convenor, Aamir Abdullah Zaki ably assisted
by the Secretary Entertainment, Noorjahan Khan
and other members of the Committee.
Recipes of Ramadan - a cooking session
Ramadan a time of spiritual enrichment that also brings with it inumerable
blessings of All Mighty. Sehr and Iftar tingle the taste buds with delicious
delicacies for all of us. Publication Committee under its Convenor,
Shamoon Bakir, realizing the importance of this in advance organized
a cooking session "Recepies of Ramadan" with renowned Chef Zakir on
5th July. Items including crispy fish, mouth watering Dahi Baray, delicious
Chicken Lollypops, tempting Prawn Balls, tasty Chicken Wings, yummy
Broast were prepared in presence of the audience. Chef Zakir also guided
about importance of vegetables and imparted recepies to prepare special
energy drinks for Ramadan with wheat and barley.
Members enjoyed the session fully and requested the Convenor for more
such sessions in coming months.
