How do you sign up?
All students who want to sing sign up for Chamber Choir.
If you do not want to audition, that’s all you do!
What if I want to be considered for an audition choir?
If you would like to be considered for an advanced choir then attend choir
auditions. After auditions your schedule will be set for the appropriate
choir.
Advanced Choir Auditions
March 31 – 6:30pm – 8:30pm
@ MVHS in the Choir Room (502)
Audition Includes:

Advanced Choir Audition Consent Form 2015-16

All choirs meet during the school day as a class period. There are some extra rehearsals
outside of class. If you did not sign up for Choir it is not a problem as we can add it to your
schedule after auditions.
I understand my child is auditioning for Advanced Choir. They have my permission to
audition for the following choirs:
q Concert Choir (Mixed Ensemble Grades 9 -12)
Minor Time Commitment ~ 8-10 performances/year ~ Attends Choir Camp in September
($250.00) (approximately $2200.00 ~ scholarships are available)
q A Cappella (All Girls Ensemble Grades 9-12)
Moderate Time Commitment ~ 15-20 performances/year ~ Attends Choir Camp in
September ($250.00) and Week Long Choir Tour to Hawaii in March (approximately
$2200.00 ~ scholarships are available)
q Madrigals (Mixed Ensemble Grades 9-12)
(Major Time Commitment ~ 75 performances/year ~ 50 concerts in December ~ Attends
Choir Camp in September ($250.00) and an International Choir Tour in April (approximately
$3800.00 ~ scholarships are available)
q I prefer my child participate in Chamber Choir
Minimal time commitment of 4-6 concerts/year
This class is designed to challenge students at varying ability levels)
Students will be placed in choirs based on musical readiness, and the overall balance of
the groups, not by the student’s age or previous years in choir. We work hard to
place singers where they will be the most successful.
