High Impact Workshop
PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICAL
APPLICATION OF EFFECTIVE
WRITING SKILLS
Date: 9 - 10 June 2015
Venue: Radisson Hotel Brunei
Course Overview
Business communication has transitioned from letters and reports to email correspondence and internetbased communication. However, the familiarity and convenience of email is resulting in sloppy, careless
habits that could ruin your business and your reputation just as surely as any email virus. Poor writing
skills could prove costly and annoying, and they can quickly damage a person’s, and a company’s,
reputation.
This programme is designed to equip participants with the ability to write emails, proposals, reports,
letters and other business-related communiqués that are succinct and convey the desired message.
This two-day workshop will help participants to:
¾¾ Apply creative writing skills in crafting communiqués.
¾¾ Structure all written communiqués to be organised and
succinct.
¾¾ Select and incorporate relevant information in a clear
and concise manner.
¾¾ Set well-formed outcomes for each communiqué to be
written.
¾¾ Identify old-fashioned phrases and
overused jargon commonly used in emails.
¾¾ Use modern business language when composing
emails.
¾¾ Apply the main rules of good writing to email messages.
¾¾ Write with creativity and confidence.
¾¾ Understand the main problems in composing emails.
Who should attend?
Department heads, managers, executives, secretaries, administrators, clerical officers, and anyone who uses email in business.
