Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice

There are some unique events at The Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. The 11th
Annual Hike for Hospice is approaching fast, June 13, and it is looking
for participants. You can register as an individual or a team today - just
visit www.kemphospice.org. If you register before April 30th, you will be
entered in the early bird prize draw. First thing up on June 13th will be
registration at 11am. The hike then starts at noon and all participants will
then be welcome to enjoy a BBQ lunch after the hike, fun and games for
the kids and a special ceremony in honor of our loved ones – the planting
of the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice 2015 Memorial Tree. Seedlings will also be
available for purchase online at kemphospice.org when you register or at
the hike. Spread the word!
Created and supported by The Moyer Foundation, Camp Erin® is the largest
network of free bereavement camps in the country designed for children
and teens ages 6-17 who have experienced the death of someone close
to them. This weekend-long experience is filled with traditional, fun camp
activities combined with grief education and emotional support – lead by
grief professionals and trained volunteers. Camp Erin Hamilton provides
a unique opportunity for peer bonding between children and teens facing
a similar life circumstance. Camp Erin Hamilton is offered free to all
families. Camp Erin Hamilton is accepting applications for campers until
April 17! Spaces are limited so please contact us now to register. Once
a completed application is received, the potential camper and their family
will be offered an interview at the Hospice.
Want to volunteer?
Anyone who would like to offer their time and support to Camp Erin
Hamilton by being a Cabin Big Buddy or a Grief Activity Facilitator, please
contact us! Volunteers are screened by our Camp Erin Hamilton staff and
are required to attend a Camp Erin education series as well as the Meet

Q. What is the process for admission to Hospice?
A.When a patient is in their own home, CCAC does the assessment and
referral to Hospice. When a patient is in the hospital then the Social Worker
on the ward will initiate the referral and the CCAC will complete the referral
process. Anyone can refer a person to be considered for hospice care.

Q. Who can take part in the Volunteer Visiting and Day Hospice
Programs? How do I know if I qualify?
A. We welcome anyone who has been diagnosed with a progressive life
limiting illness at any point in their journey. We accept referrals from families
or friends, doctor’s offices, nursing agencies, outreach teams, or simply give
us a call. As with all of our Hospice programs, there is no cost to clients or
their families.

Q. Is there a fee for Hospice Services? How can we help your hospice
financially?
A. All of the programs offered at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice are provided at
no charge to the clients and their loved ones. With only a fraction of costs
covered by the government continue to be able to provide these services;
we rely on the generosity of our donors. Anyone can make “In Memorial”
donation, become a monthly donor and support the Hospice for $10 per
month, consider the Hospice when making a general donation, orconsider
planned giving and Legacy donations.

It’s a volunteer nation for Volunteer Hamilton
More than 1,200 works of art will be available at the
45th Annual Auction by the Dundas Valley School
of Art. Many art forms will be available, including
paintings, pastels, drawings, prints, photography,
sculpture, pottery, glass, fibre, jewellery and more.
Visit April 9 to April 11 for previews and silent bidding,
and enjoy the live auction on April 11 beginning at
8 pm, at 21 Ogilvie Street, Dundas. Tickets are $25
