Lancasphere: Lancaster’s New Music and Arts Atmosphere
The goal of the series is to provide a performance space for artists whose music and art includes
experimental and ambient textures, but falls outside of traditional rock, pop or roots genres.
They create a listening room environment where musicians and
visual artists can freely explore
their art, and audiences can experience it all in a comfortable,
distraction-free setting.
Combining music, visual arts
and creative environments simultaneoulsy is a challenge for
the biggest cities and scenes
in the country, even the world.
Lancasphere, a locally-owned
and operated organization, has
not only achieved this but have
turned it into an art form itself!
Lancasphere is a concert series featuring local and re-

gional artists who perform
atmospheric music including
but not limited to: electronic,
ambient, psychedelic, experimental and art-inspired rock.
In addition to music, real-time
and pre-produced visual art accompanies the sounds to give
each audience member their
own organic, exploratory experience.
Jason Mundok, co-founder and
producer of Lancasphere, told
us, “bringing artists and audiences together in a meaningful
environment is what we are all
about. There’s something amazing that happens when it all fits
together just right as boundaries are being pushed down and
people are invited to explore.”
Locally, the two main venues for
these experiences are The Candy
Factory and Hunter’s Tryst. Both
locations are owned and operated by inside members of the
music and arts community who

also perform at these events!
Again, another rare but essential
detail that makes Lancasphere so
wonderful. Anne Kirby, owner
of Hunter’s Tryst and The Candy
Factory, and lead singer of local
band Here Inside, said, “the combination of great art with great
venues is priceless! The Candy
Factory and Hunter’s Tryst each
provide an environment that becomes a part of the music and art,
giving each audience member a
complete experience.”
This series is a must-experience
for those of us in the community who enjoy high-quality,
inventive music and art. All are
welcome as long as a passion accompanies you. The promise to
the audience is a one-of-a-kind
experience. Not only will you be
proud of your hometown music
and art scene but you will want
to be part of it, however you can
be! You see, while Lancasphere
continues to grow, invent and
entertain, it will never lose it’s
deep-rooted connection to the
Lancaster community. That connection binds the artists and the
audiences together, and a sense
of purpose is palpable across
these groups. There are so many
reasons to be proud of Lancaster
County and Lancasphere is yet
another necessary ingredient
in the recipe. Here is a list of
