School Holiday
School will close on Thursday 2nd April at 3.15 (3.10 for Reception) for the Easter holiday. School will
reopen on Monday 20th April at 8.55am
Red Nose Day
Red Nose Day was a great success with over £350 raised. Thank you to the School Council for
organising the cake sale and to everyone that donated and bought cakes.
Portsmouth in Bloom
We are once again taking part in the 'Portsmouth in Bloom' competition. For the last two years we have
been awarded second place and this year we are striving for first. Each year the children get involved by
growing plants and decorating the areas outside of their classrooms. This year our theme is
YELLOW and soon the children will be planting their seeds in class and watching them grow. For this to
happen we are asking for donations of compost and seeds of yellow plants. Please pass any donations
to the class teacher.
Holiday Play Scheme
Get Set Play is a brand new play scheme run by two local primary school teachers for ages 4-11
years with over 25 years’ experience. We will be starting in the Easter holidays at Anchorage Lodge
in Portsmouth. For information and bookings check out our website
www.getsetplay.co.uk or find us on face book at Get Set Play.
School Lunch Menu
The new menu will be sent home on Thursday 2nd April. This menu starts on Monday 20th April and runs
until October half term. The new menu only has 2 choices each day and will therefore differ from
Langstone Junior School’s menu. The menu will be available on the school website and will also be sent
out via ParentMail. Spare copies are not available.
Toy Donations
Do you have any small toys your child no longer plays with? We are looking for donations of chunky toy
cars, dinosaurs and plastic dolls for lunchtimes. Please bring any donations to the school office.
Summer Uniform
If you are planning to buy dresses/shorts for the summer term, the school colours are green/white
dresses and grey shorts with a white polo shirt. Please remember open-toed sandals are not to be
worn to school and socks are to be worn every day.
Sainsbury’s Vouchers
It is that time of year again when we would like you to collect vouchers from Sainsbury’s. The more we
collect the more things we can buy! We will need 12500 vouchers to achieve our wish list so please ask
friends and family for their vouchers too.
