Manifesto Here
Discover, Scotland: A party political manifesto from La Tasca Scotland.
At this time of political uncertainty, we want to show you that there is another party out there. A
party that represents you and heralds a brave new world of discovery.
At La Tasca Scotland we share your ideals, tastes and values. We know that family and friends are
important and it’s not always easy to spend quality time together. That’s why we take inspiration
from Mediterranean/Spanish culture where groups come together to dine, to laugh, and to share;
share food, share stories and share experiences.
It’s through this culture of sharing we believe you can explore new tastes, new hobbies and
discover, Scotland.
Our policies
1. ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION: Every day is happy hour
We applaud efforts to curb alcohol related incidents but we can do more to improve the
nation’s relationship with drink, namely giving people variety. Retailers, bars and restaurants
spend too much time fighting this legislation instead of sourcing better options for their
customers, which has seen trade plummet. Instead, our great variety of low ABV-drinks
mean that every day is happy hour at La Tasca Scotland. Our low-ABV drinks and nonalcoholic beers, wines (Torres Natureo De-alcoholised) and Sangria, specifically imported
from Spain, mean our customers can enjoy a drink with family or friends every day in our
branches.
2. OBESITY/HEATHY EATING: Clever calories not calorie-counting
It’s time party leaders stopped treating Scots as irresponsible, imposing stifling legislation
against food consumption. We need to tackle Scotland’s nutritional deficit not by imposing
mandatory salad bars, as per some other parties’ recommended policies, but by giving
people tastier options and of course smaller tapas style dishes renowned in Spain. Our
pledge is to continue to expand our award-winning gluten free menu and add even more low
calorie dishes to our menus to offer greater healthier choice. Under new leadership, we’re
totally committed to using quality produce and guarantee that all of our dishes are 85% fresh
– a bold stand from a high street restaurant – but we believe in good-tasting, fresh food.
3. IMMIGRATION: Shared cultures
We are not a party of political soundbites, we’re bringing the party, fully loaded with tasty,
even fresher Spanish bites that promote important conversation, better relationships and a
healthier, happier Scotland. We’re encouraging fusion and fun, a coming together of
Scottish and Spanish cultures to bring new experiences, better understanding and greater
respect. We promise to enrich Scottish traditions, integrating a Mediterranean/Spanish
relationship with food, drink and family to create more enjoyment and an even greater
culture.
