Visitors are invited to sign the guest register in the Lobby. People at the Information Desk would like a chance to welcome guests. If you are interested in joining our family of faith, please talk with one of our Pastors or Jane Elliott, AIM. Today’s flowers are given to the Glory of God by Mike and Kitti Berkheimer in celebration of their 35th wedding anniversary. The red roses given to those couples married 50+ years are given by Betty and Fred Schlerf in celebration of their 56th wedding anniversary on July 5th. Children aren't just welcome, they are embraced. We know kids are in worship and make noise. The psalmist David said, “make a joyful noise to the Lord!” It’s great to hear all people respond during worship. If your child should need a break, there is child care available in room 110. Parents are always welcome to stay with their children there. Parents must sign children in and out of nursery care. Clipboards and Bible bags are available for children’s use during worship and can be found at the main entrance to the worship area. Members and guests are invited to sign the Friendship Register, pass it down the row for other worshippers to sign, and introduce yourself to those worshipping around you. Let your friends know about Holy Spirit by tweeting, checking in, Instagraming, etc. that you are here. Our congregation's hashtag is #LCHolySpirit. While you are on your phone or tablet, please make sure it is on silent so you do not disrupt our worship time together. Completed prayer cards may be given to a pastor for inclusion in the morning prayers. During the week, please notify the church office if you or a member of your family is hospitalized. Financial Results and Discussion: Operating Performance: In May revenues totaled $65,991 while expenses were $60,738, resulting in a surplus of $5,253 for the month. This was better than our expected surplus of $2,481. Although Thrivent revenue was $1,049 lower than expected, total revenue was on plan, because operating pledge revenue made up most of the difference. Expenses were $3,076 better than budget. Health insurance savings for the month were $1,012 mainly due to an adjustment credit because a sufficient number of plan participants have completed health surveys. Savings in building maintenance ($517), electricity ($501) and service contracts ($497), were the other main reason expenses came in lower than planned. Pledge revenue year to date is still essentially on plan through May. Unpledged revenue is $6,372 or 14% behind at this point. Loose plate and non-member revenue is $1,638 or 22.7% under budget through May. After a strong April, Thrivent revenue tailed off in May, so we are now $2,616 behind our goal to date. Year to date we now have a surplus of $5,525. Our overall revenue is $371,982, down $2,723 to plan, while expenses are $366,457, up $3,501 to plan. So, while we made good progress in May, we are still $6,224 behind where we hoped to be after five months. Available Capital Campaign Cash: Our cash balance in the capital campaign fund is $96,326. To date we have received $619,232 out of the $818,426 pledged to the campaign. We anticipate making a significant payment near the end of June to reduce our main mortgage balance. Building Fund: We began the year with a balance of $35,509. The balance is now $14,689. We may need some assistance from this fund to help offset repairs exceeding $2,700 to 2 of the 4 compressors that heat/cool the nave. HOLY SPIRIT’S GIVING KIOSK is in the Lobby. If you would like to do your giving or make a donation via a credit/debit card, please feel free to use the kiosk in the Lobby. The kiosk is set up to receive credit/debit card payments e.g. Lord’s Day Layaway, Nursery School. If you register, thereafter you will be able to log in using your phone number. Your giving will be recorded and a receipt sent to your e-mail address. You may also make an anonymous donation. Instructions for using the kiosk may be found at the kiosk. For additional information contact Bob Schuchart, Lorie Stout Sherman, or Pam Harshey.
