It can be construed to also mean she/her as applicable by gender. All drivers are required to wear an approved, securely fastened helmet and neck brace. All drivers are required to wear the seat belt that is provided with the kart. Any safety equipment violation will result in a non-penalty black flag. All drivers must be present at Drivers Meeting which is held before each event. Not being present may result in that driver or team starting in the rear or being disqualified from the event. Initial starts will be standing starts (unless otherwise decided before event) gridded on the main straightaway just before the start/finish line. The #1 qualifier will be on the inside lane at the start/finish line. The #2 qualifier will be on the outside lane one kart length behind the #1 qualifier. Each position, from there back, will alternate inside/outside and be one position back each time. All initial starts are controlled by the flagman. Do not “go” until the flagman has displayed the green flag. Revving the engine while holding the brake is NOT allowed. Violators will be sent to the rear of the field. Restarts will be a rolling start, single file, nose to tail on or before the main straightaway. The then current leader has the option to start the race in a pre-determined area. That area will be defined in the driver’s meeting. Jumping the start will result in a “false-start” with a penalty being assessed to the offending driver. If a caution (yellow flag) is displayed for any reason during the first lap, there will be a completely new start, this may be a gridded start or a rolling single file start. All drivers will again start in the original positions unless a penalty has been assessed to any driver(s). When a caution flag is displayed for a spin, etc., the marshals will point to the race leader and notify him he is in the first position. The leader must maintain a slow pace to allow the rest of the field to catch up. Once the line-up is correct the green flag will be displayed at the restart point. If incident was only one driver or any of the drivers are lagging behind, the race may be restarted when the leader gets to the restart point. If needed the field may be stopped with the red flag and the line-up set for the restart. Once the line-up is set, the yellow flag will be displayed and the drivers will proceed at “caution” pace until the green flag is displayed for the restart. All drivers should be ready to restart anytime they are approaching the restart area. No passing under yellow or red flag conditions. All passing should be completed with NO or minimal contact. This is the responsibility of the passing driver AND the driver being passed. The passing driver has to get his front bumper even with the front tire of the kart he is passing prior to the turn in point for any turn to “have the line”. If the passing driver has NOT gotten to that point on the kart he is attempting to pass he does NOT “have the line” and must give the line to the driver in front of him. The driver being passed must give the passing driver a lane to race in, if the passing driver has gotten to the point of “having the line”. He does NOT have to give the passing driver the position. The passing driver also has to give a full lane to the driver he is passing until he has COMPLETELY cleared that kart If either driver forces the other into the barriers then the forcing driver may be penalized. “Punting” another driver out of position is not a “fair” pass and the passing driver may be penalized. If any driver “turns down” onto another driver while side by side it will be considered a “pinch” and the offending driver may be penalized. Any driver who completes a pass that is not a fair pass will be given the opportunity to give the spot back before the penalty is assessed. If any driver “turns down” onto another driver at the rear half of the kart causing a spin to the outside, that driver will be black flagged, disqualified, and removed from the race. There is NO warning for this! If any action occurs that results in a spin out or crash, the driver who, in the marshal’s opinion, was the cause of the incident, will be sent to the rear of the field for the restart. If the cause of the incident is not apparent to the marshals, then all drivers involved will be sent to the rear of the field in the order they were running in the previous lap prior to the incident. Drivers who stop behind the incident will NOT be penalized. The lineup for the restart will be determined by the last completed green flag lap, except a lead change if it was recognized by the marshals prior to the caution. If a race ends while under yellow or red flag conditions, the official finishing order will be that which would have been the order for the restart following the yellow or red flag condition. Blocking a pass by moving off line to defend will not be permitted. Bumping or ramming into other karts or the barriers is not permitted. “Brake Checking” will not be permitted. Blue flags will not be used during competitive events except when the leader is lapping another driver. Ignoring any flag will result in a penalty at the marshal’s discretion. All drivers must wear appropriate attire; closed toe shoes, no loose clothing, no offensive or objectionable attire, long hair must be secured under the collar
