NEWS RELEASE: 11/11/14 FOR IMMEDIATE USE From John O’Groats to Lands’ End over 50 MPs come out in support of new runway MPs representing the length and breadth of the country have come out backing the call for a quick decision to expand London and South East airports. In a sign of increasing political support for decisive action following the election, over fifty MPs have added their name to a list coordinated by the pro-expansion group Let Britain Fly, saying that they want whomever forms the next Government to make ‘a quick decision’ on airport expansion, once the Airports Commission publishes its final report. The list of supporters includes: - Louise Ellman MP (Labour), Chair of the Transport Select Committee; - Graham Brady MP (Conservative), Chairman of the 1922 Committee of backbench Conservative MPs; - Stephen Gilbert MP (Liberal Democrat), Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on regional aviation; - A number of current Shadow Ministers and former Ministers. Signatories range from MPs who represent key towns and cities across the entire UK including Belfast, Blackpool, Bradford, Glasgow, Huddersfield, Liverpool, Sheffield, York and many more.
