30 magical years
LNYDP 30 Magical Years ... that’s what LNYDP is all about this year! Because yes its true, drum roll, we have
finally left the terrific 20’s and are embarking on the fantabulous 30’s! This year LNYDP celebrates 30 years! And it’s
not just been 30 years, it’s been 30 magical years!
Magical (adjective) meaning:
1. relating to, using, or resembling magic;
2. beautiful or delightful in a way that seems removed from everyday life.
We are looking for entries that will fill the audience with wonder and amazement! Here are a few ideas to get you
started ...
• This year you can WALK the parade route performing street magic with magic wands and cards to really pull
your entry out of the hat, maybe even with some rabbits! Abracadabra!
OR
• You can chose to RIDE the Parade route on your very own magical unicorn or you might prefer a super duper
bike just like ET’s!
OR
• Why not DRIVE the Parade route in a magical weird and wacky car like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, or the
lightening quick Lightening McQueen or the time travelling Delorian in Back to The Future!
OR
• You might even like to FLY the Parade route on a magic carpet just like Aladdin, or be even more adventurous
and take to the skies on a Hippogriff, or simply fly up, up and away with a Mary Poppins umbrella.
OR
• For those of you keener on water than land, you could SWIM and make a splash along the parade route in the
form of a Mermaid or even the famous and regularly sighted Loch Ness Monster.
OR
• If you are not feeling inspired yet, you can think of Narnia and lions, witches and wardrobes, Alice in
Wonderland with the Cheshire cat and eat me, drink me! Maybe Peter Pan and Tinkerbell are more for you, or
Cindarella and her pumpkin, or the Wizard of Oz and the red slippers. Don’t forget Greek mythology too, you
can go the route of helmets of invisibility and magical tablecloths, not to mention all of the weird and wonderful
Minotaurs, Centaurs and other Mystical creatures. Or perhaps fairytales with their talking animals, elves, fairies
and giants ...
If you are a music and dance group don’t forget all the magical music out there, It really could be a kind of magic!
The magical choices are all yours!

page and send it back to us at the LNYDP offices. We unfortunately can not guarantee that all of the
entries we receive will be selected, but we will make sure to let you know within 14 days of receiving your
application if you have been successful.
