Coach Luna brings in 30 + years of coaching and instructing various levels of
baseball to this program. "Lunz", as the players call him, has earned the respect
of being one of the finest lead camp and private instructors in our area. He is
well recognized for founding and developing one of the first and finest
player development programs in the state, The NJ Mariners,
Organization. Coach Luna is well respected for his instructional work
with Baseball's "Iron
Man" HOF Cal Ripken
Jr. and his brother
Former Baltimore Oriole
and MLB Network
Commentator Billy Ripken.
In addition to his
work as a10 yr.
instructor with
Ripken Baseball,
Coach has appeared on Ripken Radio a few times as a guest of
Cal Ripken Jr. to discuss "The Importance of Teaching
Fundamentals in Youth Baseball". Coach, also had an
opportunity to instruct a televised infield clinic with both
Ripken Brothers at the MLB Fan Fest Celebration in NYC.

Coach Luna has worked 10 years as a
MLB Talent Evaluator and an Associate"Bird Dog" Scout for 4 MLB
Team, and was very influential in the MLB drafting of players
Marquise Liverpool (Mariners) and David Palladino (Dodgers).
Coach Luna has a solid reputation in the baseball industry. The
relationships that he has developed over the years with college
coaches, scouts, and professional athletes has helped him find home
for student athletes with talent and grades looking to play at the next
level. Coach has assisted former
Alumni's such as Garrett Luna, Jason
Midkiff, James Spaddaccini, AJ
Gallagher, Ed Spitaletta, Joe Zito, Nick
Enriquez, Chris Biescher, Tom Saffioti,
Gary Lavoie, and Dean Loucka in
nailing down scholarships to DI, DII
colleges and finding homes to DIII and
Junior Colleges as well. Coach Luna is a member of The
American Baseball Coaches Association and a former member of
The Professional Baseball Scouts Foundation. Coach Luna is also
the Head Baseball Coach at Paramus Catholic HS in Paramus, NJ.
Lunz, is also active with the NJ Yankees Travel Program where he has worked as a Head Coach,
Instructor and an Assistant for former Professional Pitcher, Paul Magrini. Coach Luna has had
the privilege and honor to have had worked side by side with several MLB Players to include a
few such as Kevin Sietzer, Steve Garvey, Larry Sheets, Al Bumbry, Bernie Williams, Kevin
Bass, Mike Heath, Reggie Sanders, and Doug Decencis.
