Year in Review
Hi all Auskick players, parents, families and friends Another successful season of Marist Auskick has come and gone, with 2013 providing us with plenty of ‘firsts’ including a new registration milestone. Across all grades, 345 registrations, which included 22 girls – we reached both new club records! Some new initiatives for the season included; Auskicker of the Week, Team Medals for weekly awards, Managers being the first point of contact, Auskick Newsletters, training aids and of course our new and improved club website. As we are always looking to improve, we welcome any thoughts and ideas for the coming seasons. Year 3’s The veterans of Auskick!! Our Year 3’s have now graduated from Auskick, and will join the ‘Modified’ aged group in Year 4 next season. I would like to personally thank the Year 3 Coaches and Managers, for their efforts during the season. They have successfully coordinated skills sessions, hosted games and represented Marist Football Club at away games. I wish to highlight the Year 3’s who filled in during the season for some Year 4 games, when they were short of players. Well done to; Kurt McCullough , Jayde Sampson, Ben Thorp, Tom Stevens, Harrison Gardener, Oliver Pedley, Xavier Binning, Tyler Fitzpatrick, William Fellowes, Nash Margaria, Harry Cole and Owen Karamfiles. Committee
Roles for 2014
As I am sure you are all aware, the Auskick season just doesn’t itself, and with many of the current Committee happen by either graduating to Year 4, or having their child play in Year 3 next season, we are in desperate need of parents whose kids in the Pre‐Primary, Year 1 and Year 2 grades, to are playing support we need to make sure our Auskickers provide the enjoy their early football years, and maintain a continue to strong and successful Auskick program for the Marist Football Club. The Committee Roles are varied, and we will accommodate anyone who volunteers to find a suitable role. The 2014 season essentially starts now, so we are asking parents to put their hand up now, so we can prepare accordingly. Please see one of the Auskick Committee team or email [email protected] with your details.
Year 12’s
One of my goals this year was to connect the Marist Football Club from top to bottom, so this year we arranged for the Year 12 players to come down and spend a day with our Auskickers. With over 20 of the senior team spending time with our Pre‐Primary, Year 1 and Tear 2 Teams, the day was a great success. Coaches Corner A huge thank you to the 64 Coaches and Assistant Coaches who have volunteered their time for the 2013 season. It is clear the players have enjoyed their Auskick experience and improved remarkably, which is in no small part due to the Coaches. Marist also set a new record for the number of Level 1 accredited Coaches which shows the enthusiasm of the Coaching group and helped make the season such a success. Enjoy the well deserved break!
Grant Hankinson Auskick Coaching Coordinator Thank you to 2013 Committee
To use a football analogy, Football is a team sport, and I am part of a great team. To our Registration Team; Jodie Smith, Rebecca Hankinson, Maria Manning, Di Schneider, Jo Gardener, Maryanne Marshall, Kylie Phillips, Anna Stiles, thank you ladies for your efforts in preparing for the Registration Day way back in February, and for time spent in aligning our teams. To the Auskick Committee; Rod Kelly, Amos Cook, Tasch Hughes, Lara Gray and Grant Hankinson….your commitment and passion have made the 2013 Auskick season the best ever. I cannot recall asking any of you anything over the past 12 months that you were not able to do or hinted that you didn’t want to do it. The Marist Auskick Family thanks you all for your great efforts in Season 2013 Farewell to Season 2013 and Hello 2014!
The Auskick tents are folded up, the air‐horn is packed away, and Sunday morning football is replaced by sleep‐ins and garden duties. Please be sure to keep an eye out for updates on our website, Facebook, or the odd email here and there, as 2014 rolls around and we get to do this all over again!
