The Maritimes Energy Association Announces Appointment of New Chief Executive Officer FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 28 April 2015 HALIFAX, NS - The Maritimes Energy Association announced the appointment of Ray Ritcey to the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective May 1, 2015. Mr. Ritcey is an independent businessman and former senior executive with over 35 years of experience in the Eastern Canadian energy industry. He has held executive positions in both the natural gas and electric industries working with such industry leaders as TransCanada Pipelines, Ontario Hydro, Enbridge and AltaGas. “I am very pleased to welcome Ray as our CEO,” says Chair of The Maritimes Energy Association Julie Hebert. “His extensive energy background will contribute significantly to helping The Maritimes Energy Association achieve its strategic objectives where member companies realize maximum benefits and value for the goods and services they provide to the energy industry.” For ten years Ray led the development of natural gas distribution in Nova Scotia and was the founding President of Heritage Gas Limited. In 2014, he was a member of the Expert Panel on Hydraulic Fracturing in Nova Scotia. Most recently he was co-chair of QUEST NS (Quality Urban Energy Systems of Tomorrow) and has served on a number of advisory Boards and not-for-profit community-based organizations. He also served as a Director on the Board of the Offshore Onshore Technologies Association of Nova Scotia (OTANS), the forerunner to The Maritimes Energy Association, and is a frequent guest speaker at industry events and a supporter of its vision. Ray currently serves on the Board of Halifax Water and is Chair of their Audit and Finance Committee. He has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified General Accountant.
