A Short Course on Iron Oxide-Copper-Gold Deposits
(Incorporating a Mini Conference on New Research Results from the IOCG Systems
of the Mount Woods Inlier and Yorke Peninsula)
PRESENTERS:
Pat Williams is the Director of Clump Mountain Geoscience Pty Ltd and adjunct senior lecturer in economic geology at James
Cook University. His experience of research into, and exploration of IOCG systems spans 24 years with particular emphasis on the
Cloncurry district, Gawler Craton and northern Sweden. He was the invited first and co-ordinating author of the paper on IOCG
deposits in the Society of Economic Geologists' Economic Geology 100th Anniversary Volume and has also authored several
contributions to the PGC Publishing Hydrothermal Iron Oxide Copper-Gold & Related Deposits: A Global Perspective series as well
as numerous papers on related topics in the international literature. Since 2008 he has been working as a consultant to the exploration
industry specializing in Proterozoic base metal and gold exploration and the petrochemical evaluation of rocks in
mineralized systems.
Peter Pollard is a Brisbane-based consultant specializing in IOCG, porphyry Cu-Au and tin-tungsten deposits. He has worked
in 28 countries and on some of the world's major IOCG and porphyry copper-gold deposits. He has worked on exploration for
IOCG deposits in a number of countries including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile and Mexico. He has also worked on exploration
of a number of major porphyry Cu-Au deposits in Chile, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Mongolia and Russia.
Graham Teale is an Adelaide based consultant who has over 40 years experience in mineral exploration, mining and research.
He has worked on most IOCG related mineralisation in the Curnamona Craton as well as working throughout the Gawler Craton.
He has worked on IOCG mineralisation in Sweden, India and Zambia. He has been involved in mineral exploration and research
on the Curnamona Craton since 1975 and is currently carrying out research on IOCG and Broken Hill Type (BHT) mineralisation.
He has run his own consulting firm for 35 years.
