MMHS Eagle HighFLIGHTS: *Congratulations to Johnny Averett, who was named All Utah Valley Boys’ Basketball Coach of the Year!! Way to go Coach Averett!!! *MMHS Girls’ Basketball: Congratulations to the following basketball players: Liz Eaton, who was named Utah Valley Offensive Player of the year; Elzi Nielsen and Nicole Heyn, who was named All Utah Valley Team Honorable Mention; Liz Eaton, who was named First Team All-Region; Elzi Nielsen, who was named 2nd Team All-Region; and Nicole Heyn, Elli Eastmond, and Mikayla Hubbard, who were named Honorable Mention AllRegion. Way to go Golden Eagles!!! And a special “thank you” to Coach Green and his staff! *MMHS Boys’ Basketball: Congratulations to Kade Poulsen, who made the All Utah ValleyTeam; and Bryson Anderson, Jake Dixon, Abe Durrant, and Jaren Hall, who were awarded the Utah All Valley Honorable Mention. *Students of the Month for April: Congratulations to the following students who are being recognized as MMHS’s Students of the Month for April, from our Science Department: Amber Ray, Dawson Nackos, Sydney Stephenson, Brian Carter, Tasha Jackson, and Dallin McKinney. Congratulations to these amazing students! *Skills USA Winners and Competitors: Michael Swanson, Chandler Schramm, and McKay Hales dominated the welding fabrication contest they took 1st by almost 300 points. The only team in the whole contest to finish the project, out scoring even the 4 college teams present. Our own senior class president Josh Jensen won first place in CPR/first aid! Josh Warren got 7th in cabinet making Deionne Jones got 18th in welding individual. Soren Peterson got 7th in photography Madi Powell got 9th in photography Dalton Carson got 9th in welding sculpture Kayla Summers got 8th in job interview Our entrepreneurship team took 4th consisting of Carlos Urbina, Anya Nelson, Bekka Bair Please if you see any of these students give them a high five! Monday E-mail to Parents & Students: 3-30-15 *For more school information, please go to our school website at: https://mmhs.nebo.edu *Graduation Robes: ***SENIOR STUDENTS*** Graduation is around the corner, and if you have not already ordered your graduation robes, please do so as soon as possible by contacting Josten’s at: 435-6888409!!! There are also order forms in the main office! Be sure and get this taken care of right away! *Driver Education: For those signed up for the April Driver Education class, there will be a mandatory meeting in Mr. Hyer's room, E-202, on Thursday, April 2nd right after school (2:30). The meeting will only last about 10 minutes. If you are unable to come, please see Mr. Hyer before Thursday. Ninth grade students who are enrolled in the April class do NOT need to come to the meeting on the 2nd. There will NOT be a parent meeting this month. The first class will be on Monday, April 20th at 6:00 AM. The summer driver education class dates are now posted online at http://mmhs.nebo.edu/DriversEd Select a class that is conflict free from sports, camps, vacations and other activities. You can sign up at the MMHS finance office. The guidelines have recently changed regarding the online class, so please read everything carefully about the online class found on the MMHS webpage. Classes fill up quickly, so don't wait. You must have a current learner permit when signing up. *MMHS Dance Company: The Maple Mountain High School Dance Company will present their 6th annual Spring Concert entitled "Illuminated" on Friday April 3rd in the MMHS Auditorium beginning at 7:00 pm. MMDC will showcase choreography by Elise Barney, Alexa Knutzen, Kathryn Southworth, Faith Taylor, Addie Black, Lexi Robinson, Cassandra Chambers and Alissa Kiser, as well as 2 guest pieces. The social dance class, dance 2 and Mapleton Jr.High dance classes will also perform. Please come out and support MMHS/MJHS Fine Arts/PE Departments and enjoy a night of amazing dance talent and inspiration.
