JOHN O - Memphis Obstetrics and Gynecological Association, PC
Dear valued patient, Memphis Obstetrics and Gynecological Association, P.C. (MOGA) was established in 1985 by Drs. Leigh Adkins and John Gayden with Robert Burns as Administrator. Over the years, our group has expanded to include four locations, twenty physicians and four nurse practitioners, and we are excited to announce the addition of two new physicians in summer 2014. Since our establishment, our physicians have provided service in every Labor and Delivery unit in the East, North and Southaven markets. Dr. Gayden has been the driving force of the MOGA practice and because of his leadership, we have grown to become one of the largest women's health provider groups in the Mid-South. He served as our medical group President from 1987 until 2006 and still serves as Chairman of the Board. During his career, Dr. Gayden was at the forefront of many technologies and innovations and strived every day to provide a comfortable and patient friendly environment for women seeking care. Notably, he was instrumental in the formation of The Women’s Health Center with Baptist Hospital. As many of his patients are aware, Dr. Gayden found himself in need of a new lung and received a transplant over a year ago. He has recovered well, but due to concern of infection, his physicians have prescribed that he give up his practice. After much consideration and almost 40 years in practice, Dr. Gayden has decided to take the advice of his physicians and has made the decision to retire. We will certainly miss seeing Dr. Gayden on a daily basis, but look forward to having him visit us on occasion. It is both his hope and ours that you will continue to seek care from one of MOGA's compassionate physicians or nurse practitioners. Dr. Gayden was instrumental in the selection of each of our providers so you can rest assured knowing they are capable of caring for your every need. We leave you with these words from Dr. Gayden: “My heart is there, but physically, I am unable to practice. In my absence I have missed and will continue to miss my patients because they have become my best friends. I cherish our years together and the relationships I have established throughout my years of practice. Life is a gift and what you do with it is what you get back and ask for nothing in return." For information on all providers at MOGA, please visit our website, www.mogamd.com or please call us at 901.843.1500 so that we may work with you to best match you with a new physician or nurse practitioner. Sincerely, MOGA Physicians and Staff
