This meeting is especially for those parents who have their oldest child moving to middle school as new sixth grade student. Information will be shared about Beadle, expectations, dress code, conferences, parking procedures, and assisting your child with the transition from elementary school to middle school. This meeting is for parents and guardians only. Beadle Sneak Peek Friday, May 1st Friday, May 1st, will be a half-day of school for our current Beadle Middle School students. Current students will be dismissed from school at 10:30 am so the 2015-2016 sixth grade students can come to the Beadle Sneak Peek to tour the building and complete transition activities. Buses will run accordingly. Current students are asked to be picked up by 10:45 am so we can prepare for the fifth grade students. Incoming fifth grade students will arrive at 11:30 am. Thank you. Eighth Grade Farewell and Honors @ Millard West High School Thursday, May 14th 7:00 pm All eighth grade students and their family are invited to the Eighth Grade Farewell and Honors Night. This year, the Honor’s Celebration will be held at Millard West High School. All students will be recognized for their academic and activity or athletic accomplishments. Everyone is invited for cookies and lemonade afterwards. We ask that students wear dresses, skirts or dress pants for this special occasion. No jeans, shorts, or t-shirts please. From the principal BEADLE ASSESSMENTS Eighth grade Beadle students will participate in the Science NeSA on April 20th and 21st. NeSA stands for the Nebraska State Accountability. Please help your student(s) perform their best by ensuring they are well-rested and eat a healthy breakfast the day of the assessment. If possible, please avoid late night activities prior to an assessment. Beadle students have historically performed well on assessments, and we look forward to continued success this year. Thank you for your support. 2015-2016 SEVENTH GRADE PHYSICALS and SPORTS PHYSICALS Nebraska Law requires every seventh grade student to have either a doctor’s physical or waiver signed by you before entering seventh grade in August. If your child will be participating in sports, they are required to have a physical. Seventh grade physicals and Sports Physicals must be dated after May 1, 2015. Seventh Grade Physical Packets will be mailed in April 2015. If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Katie Kintzle, Beadle nurse at 402-715-6105. FROM THE GUIDANCE OFFICE MILLARD WEST WILDCAT THEATRE WORKSHOP Millard West Drama is hosting its Fifth Annual Wildcat Theatre Workshop for grades 3 to 8 in order to promote the performing arts for young people in our community. The middle school sessions will be held at Russell Middle School. Current eighth grade students interested in summer school will attend sessions at Millard West High School. SPORTS TRACK – SEVENTH AND EIGHTH GRADE GIRLS AND BOYS Mrs. Marshall is the head coach for the girls track team, assisted by Mrs. Hagaman and Mrs. Meyers. Mr. Koebel is the head coach for the boys track team, assisted by Mr. Keasling and Mr. Whale.
