Rational Functions Match Game (project) MATERIALS - As part of this packet, you will find the following • Answer grid and follow up questions • 8 cut out cards containing Rational Functions (labelled 1-8) • 8 cut out data tables (labelled 9-16) • 8 cut out graph cards (labelled 17-24) • 8 cut out verbal descriptions of what is happening in each graph (labelled 25-32) TASK DIRECTIONS • Cut out each card (you should have 32 cards total) • Each Rational Function card corresponds with a data table card, graph card and verbal description card. • Your objective is to Match each of the 8 equation cards to the corresponding table, graph, and verbal description cards. Record your answers in answer grid • Below the grid you will find 8 follow up questions. The number of each question refers specifically to the corresponding rational function card (so follow up question #1 is asking about function #1). Follow the directions for each question and show work wherever directed. • I encourage you to use Desmos and/or your graphing calculator to help you WHAT YOU NEEDTO HAND IN (put them in this order): • Hand in completed grid that matches the functions to their graphs/data tables/descriptions and the answers to the "follow up" questions • Attach each of the four cards that "go together" to a sheet of paper (staple, glue, tape,...I don't care how you attach it as long as it looks "professional"). Since there are 8 "groups" of information, you will need to hand in 8 sheets with 4 cards attached to each • Please staple or clip all of your pages together HOW WILL YOU BE GRADED • 1 pt. each for each sheet of 4 cards that you hand in (8 pts. total) • 2 pts. each for each correct answer in the matching grid (48 pts total) • 3 pts. each for correctly answering follow up questions and showing work as directed (24 pts. total) • 10 pts. for professionalism/neatness/completeness/following directions (my judgement) • Total out of 90 points (pro-rated to 100%) Rational Functions Match Game (project) Matching Answer Grid Follow up Questions Equation 1) Simplify the function (hint: Put the denominator in standard form and factor out a -1) SHOW ALL WORK BELOW Equation 2) Simplify the function SHOW ALL WORK BELOW Rational Functions Match Game (project) Follow up Questions (continued) Equation 3) Simplify the function SHOW ALL WORK BELOW Equation 4) What is the domain and range of this function?
