I am in Whitehorse this weekend, for the Yukon Judo Championships. Have no
fear... Your children are in great hands. Tom Schwartz, Annika’s dad, was our

4th Grade vs. 5th Grade Basketball Game: May 5
Don’t forget… Gastineau’s annual 4th grade v.s 5th grade basketball game will
be held NEXT Tuesday, May 5. The 4th vs. 5th game will tip-off at 12:45pm. The
winners will face the INCREDIBLE, UNSTOPPABLE, UNBELIEVABLE, and FEARLESS
Gastineau Staff All-Star team at 1:30pm. This is surely an event not to be missed!
!
Gastineau Bike to School Day: May 6
Next Wednesday, 5/6, is Gastineau’ Bike to School Day! We will meet students
at the Juneau-Douglas Bridge and organize groups of students, led by older
riders, to bike to school along the pathway. Our meeting time will be 7:30 a.m.
and we'll ask the Juneau Police Department to help us keep students safe
along the way. For more information, please contact: Mr. Miller
([email protected]). Hope you can join in the fun!
!
5th Grade Gastineau Strummers Tour: May 8
Don’t forget… The 5th Grade Gastineau Strummers Tour will be held NEXT
Friday, 5/8. Our annual tour is a great chance for all Gastineau students to
have the opportunity to perform out in our community.
!
Fifth grade students and students who participated in the after school
Strummers club will perform an afternoon concert at Riverbend Elementary,
beginning at 1:30. All transportation will be provided by school busses. We
could use some parent volunteers to ride on the bus as well as some help
hauling gear, and basic set up and striking help. If you are willing to help with
our tour please send Mr. Murphy an e-mail ([email protected])
or give him a call at the school (796-5075). Thanks for your support!
