3.
ORGANISING AUTHORITY
The organising authority for the event is the Model Yachting Association (MYA) and responsibility for
the management of the event is delegated by the MYA to Lincoln Model Yacht Club.
4.
RULES
The event will be governed by the current version of the following rules and regulations:
 Racing Rules of Sailing (2013 – 2016) as changed by the RRS Appendix E
 Equipment Rules of Sailing (2013 – 2016)
 MYA Regulations for the Organisation of National Championships (Latest version supplied by
the MYA)
 MYA Standard Sailing Instructions Championships (SSI) (Latest version supplied by the MYA)
 HMS (latest version supplied by the MYA)
 IOM Class Rules (latest version from IOMICA)
 Addendum Q will be available to the racing team if umpires available.
 SYRPH will be used as the first measure in any protest request.
Copies of the above may be viewed on the Official Notice Board at the event.
Before the event copies of the above may be found in the Race Management section of the MYA
Knowledge Base.
5.
REGISTRATION
The following shall be presented to the Race Committee at any time requested during the event:




valid class certificate for the boat to be raced
if applicable, the owner’s valid personal sail number certificate
for foreign competitors, proof of membership of their Delegated National Member of IRSA
You will be asked to fill in a”Next of Kin form”. I, C, E.
NOTE
If any of the above is not available at the event, but a competitor claims that they exist, the competitor
shall sign a declaration to that effect and agree to send a copy of the missing document to the Race
Committee within seven days of the end of the event.
6.
SCORING AND RACING SYSTEM
Scoring and Racing System shall be as per Section 4.
7.
MEASUREMENT
Each IOM entered will need to be inspected prior to the start of the event to confirm it conforms to the
class rules. Please present your boat to the measurer fully set up in it’s A rig including the correct
batteries that will be used, along with your boats documents.
The Race Committee may direct that boats in the event shall be check measured. Random spot checks
may be conducted throughout the duration of the event.
8.
FREQUENCIES
Permitted frequencies are 27 MHz, 40 MHz and 2.4 GHz
For frequency bands other than 2.4GHz, a minimum of five (5) frequencies shall be stated on the entry
form and be available at the event.
No frequency to be changed without authorisation from the Race Officer.
9.
PROTESTS
A protest committee will be appointed by the Race Committee to hear any protests arising from the
event and may comprise competitors not involved in the incident.
10. ENTRIES & ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to all members of MYA affiliated Clubs and is also open to members of foreign clubs
affiliated to a Delegated National Member of IRSA.
The number of entries shall be limited by the provisions of the Heat Management System (HMS).
Entries shall be made before the closing date for entries, 4th July 2015 as follows:



Online, using the on line entry system via the MYA website.
By e-mail attaching a completed event entry form.
By post sending a copy of the form in the MYA Yearbook

After the closing date late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organising authority, you
shall incur an additional late entry fee and a place is subject to the availability of a space.
11. ENTRY FEES
The entry fee of £50.00 shall be paid by 4th July 2015. The entry will only be valid once the entry fee
has been received by the Organising Committee by the due date (4th July 2015)
Entries and Fees should be sent to Jen Hand as above in Section 10.
Cheques shall be made payable to Lincoln Model Yacht Club.
The additional fee for making a late payment of the entry fee is £10 up until the 11th July 2015. After
this date your place will be offered to the reserve list and you will have lost your place in the
event.
12. COMPETITORS WITH DISABILITY
Competitors that require any form of help or special requirements should, prior to entry, get in touch
with the club contact given in Section 10 to check if the club is able to help with the provision of any
such special requirements. The onus is on the competitor to establish whether the available facilities are
adequate before deciding to enter the event
13. PRIZES AND TROPHIES
A perpetual trophy will be awarded to the winner of the event. Should the winner be an overseas
resident, the perpetual trophy will remain in the possession of the MYA.
Prizes or trophies will be awarded for Winner to 12th place.
14. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
All those entering or taking part in this event do so at their own risk and responsibility.
The Model Yachting Association, the organising authority, the host club and any other parties involved
in the organisation of this event disclaim any and every responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage,
injury or inconvenience that might occur to persons and goods both ashore or on the water as a
consequence of entering or participating in the event covered by this Notice of Race.
At all times the responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves plus the decision to participate
or continue must rest with the competitor.
FOOD AND SOCIAL ARRANGEMENTS



Lunch packs will be available for purchase, make sure you purchase your pack first thing in the
morning with the catering team. More information will be sent out nearer the time.
Tea and coffee will be available all weekend.
SUNDAY BBQ. The BBQ on Sunday is FREE to competitors, spouses and partners will be
charged a small fee.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN DRINKS.
