BUGLE MAY 2015 BUGLE TOOTOOOctober 2013 ASSOCIATION NEWS BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING – Tuesday, May 19 at 4:00 PM at Brandywine Hall ATTENTION There is an open DISPOSAL CONTAINTER parked next to our TRASH COMPACTOR. *********************** DO NOT PUT TRASH IN THIS CONTAINER*********************** This CONTAINER is for Horticulture Debris Only! Rosalio and Perry, our maintenance techs, have had to actually climb INSIDE the Dumpster to pull out the dirty garbage. GUEST VECHICLE DECALS – Forms for the Guest Decals are available in the office. The resident will need to complete the form which requires the guest’s License Plate Number and a copy of the guest’s Driver’s License. Cost is $5 and the decal is valid 5/1/2015 - 5/1/2016. *Note Temporary Guest passes (Valid for 6 months) are still available in the office or at the Gate house. REMINDER – Please use BLACK garbage bags NOT white. The birds are more attracted to the white bags. LUNCH BUNCH – Friday, May 15 at 12:00 PM at the Bayfront Bistro. Reservations were required by May 11. We will continue to meet for lunch the third Friday of each month May thru October, at various restaurants in the area. BINGO – Wednesday, May 20 at 7:30 PM. Congratulations to the winners for Bingo on May 6, 2015! The “X” was won by Dorothy White and the “Cover-all” winner was Bob Schlossmann. GREAT COURSES – May 21: Greatest Geological Wonders: This time it is the sleeping Power of Mt. Fuji Being Human: Burden of being burden-free Paradoxes of stress and depression. May 28: Greatest Geological Wonders: Galapagos Rift or what goes under water at ocean ridges. Being Human: Bugs in the Brain Parasites that alter behavior, and other strange things. MEMORIAL DAY DINNER - Monday, May 25 at 5:30 PM. We will have a spiral ham dinner and are requesting that residents bring a side dish to serve 6-8. The Activity committee will provide rye bread (for those who wish to make sandwiches) as well as dessert. The cost is $8.00. BYOB. Sign Up will be on May 18 from 1-3 PM in the West Brandywine Room. Any questions call Kathie Hyre – 481-9428 LOOKING AHEAD POOLSIDE PARTIES – As summer returns we will once again begin our poolside parties. Just bring an hors d’hoevre, salad, dessert or your favorite dish to feed 8. BYOB. The Activities Committee will supply all the paper goods and set up. The first party is planned for Saturday, June 13 at 5:30 PM. Parties continue on July 11 and August 8. There is never a sign up for these events, so watch the BUGLE. FATHER’S DAY – Sunday, June 21, we will hold an ice cream sundae and root beer float party in the Brandywine Room between 2-4 PM. The cost of the sundae will be $2.00 and floats $3.00. There is no sign up for this event. We invite all our Dads to join us and bring along your families. Hopefully, there will be many children and grandchildren to join in the fun and a sunny day to allow for swimming in the pool. FLAG PLANTING – July 3 – As has been a tradition at Brandywine, residents are asked to join in the flag planting the day before July 4. We supply the flags and try to cover a broad area around Brandywine. We will meet at the clubhouse at 10:00 AM to distribute flags and assignments.
