Career Opportunity Senior Exploration& Development Geologist - Middle East Job Description The Senior Geologist at Calgary based NAFT Energy Consultants(NEC) Inc. willadvise E&P clients on the large-scale structural and stratigraphic framework of a diverse range of carbonate and clastic play types of the Middle East. Particular focus will be upon incorporating the regional framework into achieving lease evaluation, prospect identification and maturation, analogue identification and knowledge transfer, identifying risks and uncertainties, recommending lease / prospect development and go forward strategies, and advising on drilling decisions (ranging from exploration to development and infill to work over strategies). Activities will include both onshore and offshore lease and play evaluation. Duties Contributing to focused stratigraphic and structural interpretations of regional and reservoir scale projects and play types throughout the Middle East; advising geoscientists and other subsurface colleagues on the critical concepts, risks and uncertainties required for prospect evaluations; performing quality assurance of client projects and evaluations within the broad scope of firm's work; utilizing diverse range of modern sub-surface applications according to the clients' needs and desires; providing input and guidelines to improve risked volume estimates by clarifying and refining interpretation; providing balanced structural restoration to verify and improve seismic interpretations; incorporating sequence stratigraphic framework interpretation concepts as appropriate, and developing and improving subsurface Workflows. Qualifications Master's Degree in Geology plus a minimum of ten years of geologist experience in the oil and gas industry. The experience must include at least one year of each of the following: structural clastic and carbonate exploration throughout the Middle East, multiple basin exposure desirable, leadership skills, collaborating effectively with and advising engineers/ geoscientists / clients, mentoring junior geoscientists, excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and experience presenting to management, partners, regulatory officials and other stakeholders, clear identification and explanation of project subsurface risks, uncertainties and mitigation options, experience with diverse project types, including lease evaluation, data room evaluation, swaps and trades, farm-ins / outs, asset sales and acquisitions, partnerships and partner technical relations, advising on large-scale stratigraphic frameworks and plays, www.NAFT.ca/career Career Opportunity using modern sub surface applications collaboratively with other subsurface professionals, developing and implementing exploration, development and risked volume estimate workflows, NAFT Energy Consultants Inc.
