Course Objectives :
At the completion of this debate Clinicians will be able to weigh up the pros and cons of
Laparoscopic Myomectomy and make informed decisions on which myoma and how many should
be dealt with laparoscopically. Clinicians should be able to evaluate indications, alternative
therapies and give thorough explanations to the patients regarding the issue of morcellation.
Course Description :
The course is giving a comprehensive vision of all the issues, debates and advantages related to
Laparoscopic Myomectomy. The use of medical treatments and agents to reduce blood loss will
be evaluated. The role of energy sources, the different types of suture will be described. Particular
attention will be given to the differential diagnosis of myomas in view of the recent debate related
to the issue of the use of power morcellation. Different techniques, different sutures and the
technique for dealing with difficult myomectomies will be addressed.
