2015 NEMO Fair Queen Pageant
Rules and regulations
The NEMO Fair Pageant competition is held annually in Kirksville in conjunction with the NEMO Fair. Entrants agree
to abide by all rules of the NEMO Fair Pageant that are in effect now or as announced later. Entrants agree that the time,
manner and method of judging shall be solely at the discretion of the NEMO Fair and the decision of the judges will be final.
Entrants agree to pay an entry fee of $40.00.
1. Contestants shall be citizens of the United States and residents of the state of Missouri for no fewer than six months
immediately preceding.
2. The NEMO Queen/Teen Miss will automatically relinquish her title if she has a child, enters into a marriage contract, or
chooses to cohabit with a male in lieu of a marriage contract.
3.Royalty must be present for all obligations as determined by the queen committee including the Saturday
before the upcoming fair regardless of any circumstances.
4. Contestants for the Division of Queen shall be between the ages of 17 years old and 22 years old. Contestants for the
Division of Teen Miss shall be between the ages of 13 years old and 16 years old. Contestants for the Division of Young
Miss shall be between the ages of 9 years old and 12 years old. All of the above Divisions shall be as of
September 1, 2015.
5. Entries shall be postmarked no later than June 15, 2015.
6. All entries shall be sent to NEMO Fair Queen Pageant c/o Cathy Houston, 25928 Benton Way, Kirksville, MO 63501.
7. A complete entry must include the following:
a) $40.00 entry fee non-refundable.
b) Completed entry form.
c) One wallet size photo which will become property of NEMO Fair Association and will not be returned.
*Failure to include all 3 items listed above will result in contestant being ineligible to compete in contest.*
8. Each Contestant/pageant division winner under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during
duration of the 2015 NEMO Fair, while representing the NEMO Fair Association.
9. Conduct deemed to be improper and detrimental to the NEMO Fair or the queen pageant will be reason for
disqualification and dismissal by the queen committee.
10. If Miss NEMO Fair fails to complete her term, the title will be passed to the runner-up in the order of their rank,
beginning with the first runner-up.
11. Selection of the division winners will be based on the following scoring basis: Personal interviews, 40 percent; public
speaking or talent performance, 40 percent; evening gown, 20 percent. Talent is limited to 2 minutes.
12. The NEMO Fair Association will furnish the following for the contestant competing for Missouri State Fair Queen:
a) Entry fee for the contest.
b) One night lodging for the candidate and chaperone with the Sedalia Welcome Committee.
13. Missouri State Fair Queen contestant must provide her own chaperone per State Fair Queen contest rules.
14. NEMO Fair Queen Committee has the right to change rules to meet the needs of the contest.
