NERD Centre is the premier engineering research and development institution in the country,
coming under purview of Ministry of Housing & Samurdhi and engaged in a variety of intellectually
challenging research projects of National Importance.
Applications are invited from qualified, energetic, proactive and innovative Sri Lankans for the
following posts.
01. ARCHITECT
Academic & Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Built Environment from a university recognized by the
University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka
AND
MSc in Architecture from a university recognized by the University Grants
Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka
Experience :
03 years of relevant post qualifying experience
Age
Should be not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years.
(The upper age limit will not apply to the employees of the Government
Corporations/ Boards/ Public Sector.)

MM1-1-2006 : Rs. 25640 (3x665-7x735 – 15x925) 46655
Transport Facilities
Group transport facilities are available as applicable to the Centre from Colombo,
Gampaha, Kadawatha, Minuwangoda and Negombo.
02. SUPERINTENDENT – MAINTENANCE

Academic & Professional Qualifications
National Diploma in Technology (NDT) or Higher National Diploma in Engineering
(HNDE) or National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES)
Experience :
06 years post qualifying experience in the relevant filed in a Government
Department/ Corporation/ Board or a reputed Mercantile Establishment
Age
Should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years.
(The upper age limit will not apply to the employees of the Government
Corporations/ Boards/ Public Sector.)

04. TECHNICAL ASSISTANT
Academic & Professional Qualifications
Having passed the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in six subjects with credit passes for four
subjects including Sinhala/ Tamil / English language & Mathematics AND Having passed
G.C.E. (A/L) in three subjects in Science in one sitting.
AND
One of the following Diploma Qualifications

National Diploma in Technology (NDT)
Higher National Diploma in Engineering (HNDE)
National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES)
Having successfully completed a Diploma course not below NVQ Level 5,
conducted by a recognized institute of technological service.
Salary Scale:
MA 2-2-2006-A : Rs. 14610 (10 x 145 - 7 x 170 - 4 x 290 - 20 x 345) 25310
Salary Point:
Selected candidates will be placed at the initial salary point of the above salary scale.
Age

05. DRAUGHTSMAN
Academic & Professional Qualifications
Having passed the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in six subjects with credit passes for four
subjects including
i Sinhala/ Tamil / English language
ii Mathematics
AND
Having passed G.C.E. (A/L) in three subjects in Science in one sitting.
AND
Draughtsman Apprentice Certificate – Not below NVQ Level 5 (minimum one year durationfull time) from a Government Technical Institute
Experience :
Three years relevant post qualifying experience
Salary Scale:
MA 2-2-2006-A : Rs. 14610 (10 x 145 - 7 x 170 - 4 x 290 - 20 x 345) 25310
For All Post:
Selected candidates will be placed at the initial salary point of the relevant
salary scale.
Other Benefits for all Posts
 Centre contributes 15% of the salary to the Employees Provident Fund and employee should
contribute 10%
 Centre contributes 3% of the salary to the Employees Trust Fund
 In addition Government approved allowances will be paid.
 Reimbursement of medical bills as per the approved Medical Scheme of the NERD Centre
 Encashment of unutilized leave
 Incentive benefits as per the Incentive Scheme implemented by the Centre
Applications giving full Bio-Data with names, addresses and telephone numbers of two non-related
referees and copies of the certificates relevant to educational & experience certificate should
be forwarded under Registered Cover to reach the Manager (Human Resources) of NERD
Centre on or before 31 March 2015.
