Important Information for Participants
Location:
The conference will be held at Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine, a new
facility on the campus of University of Connecticut Health Center. The Jackson Labs
building is located at 10 Discovery Drive, Farmington, CT 06032, or ask your GPS to
take you to 263 Farmington Avenue, Farmington, CT 06032.
Hartford is easily accessible by train or bus. From Union Station the taxi is
approximately $35, or less via Uber. Get a discount of up to $20 on your first Uber
ride using promo code “ubernergg”.
Driving directions:

As you turn off the highway into the Health Center complex, look forward across
the rotary and you will see the new Jackson Labs building
with its logo on high on the face of the building.
Parking:
Park in Garage 1. From the rotary, follow signs to Garage 1. Parking will be
charged at $1 per hour. Follow the red line on the map to the garage, and follow the
green line to walk to Jackson Labs. There are a limited number of handicapped spots
(with a handicapped placquard) in front of the building. Shuttle service is provided
from Homewood Suites to the front door of the building.
Building security:
Conference registration is required to enter the building. Mobile phone signals
are spotty depending on your provider. There is a guest wifi account with variable
strength. It would be best to arrange with your office to be unavailable for the day.
Staying overnight:

Homewood Suites is located one mile from the Jackson Labs facility, and has a
shuttle that will take you to the front door. People staying overnight on Thursday
will be offered a complementary light supper on Thursday night, and breakfast each

Farmington CT on the internet to make your reservation, and be sure to say you are
part of the NERGG block. Our conference rate is $130 for a king room with a pullout couch. This rate is guaranteed through April 10. After that date, space may or may
not be available.
CEUs:
This event has been submitted to the National Society of Genetic Counselors for
approval of Category 1 CEUs. The ABGC accepts CEUs approved by NSGC for
purposes of recertification. Approval for the requested CEUs and Contact hours is
currently pending. Certificates of attendance will be provided for other professionals
who may apply to their state agencies for appropriate credits.
Nursing mothers:
There is a room on the third floor where nursing mothers may go for privacy.
