WEP Student Exchange Scholarships World Education Program (WEP) Australia is awarding two $3000
scholarships towards semester and year-long student exchange programs to over 25 countries around the world

ADF Gap year
What jobs are available?
Navy Gap Year,
Army Gap Year (Administration Clerk, Artilleryman, Driver, Rifleman, Unit Quartermaster) and
Air Force Gap Year.
The ADF Gap Year program provides an opportunity for young Australians, who have finished year 12 (or
equivalent) and are aged between 17 and 24*, to experience military training and lifestyle whilst gaining new skills
and pay over their Gap Year.
The life skills and job training that you will acquire during your Gap Year experience will be valuable regardless of
what career you ultimately undertake.

Girls in ICT Day
Thursday 23 April, 8.30am – 3.30pm
Your students are invited to join us these school holidays for International Girls in ICT
Day.
Designed for girls in years 9 -12, this program will give students the chance to speak to
current students, hear from women in the industry, and get involved in workshops and
demonstrations.
At the event, students will hear more about the opportunities for females in the ICT
sector, exciting careers, and cutting edge technology that can help shape our future.

GET Set
Friday 15 May, 8.30am – 4.00pm
Designed for girls in years 11 -12 the GET Set Program at
ANU is a day full of fun activities that explore the cutting-edge
fields of engineering, technology and science.
Students will get involved in a jam-packed day featuring
hands-on activities and innovative presentations. Participants
will have the opportunity to chat to current students and learn
more about why we need more women in STEM and hear
more about what engineering is really all about.

Changes to the Secondary Schools Tax File Number Program in 2015
The Secondary Schools Tax File Number (TFN) Program will not continue beyond 31 December 2014.
This means that School TFN forms will no longer be processed beyond this date.
How students can apply for a TFN from 1 January 2015
The Australian Taxation Office in partnership with Australia Post is making it easier for individuals to apply
for a TFN.
Students can now apply for a TFN online and have their identity verified through an interview at a
participating Australia Post office.
Applying online is the fastest and most convenient way for students to get a TFN. More information on
applying online can be found at ato.gov.au by searching for 'QC27248'
