POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Admissions Advisor Applications are being accepted for a full-time 11 month Admissions Advisor. This position will report to the Director of Admissions. This position provides admissions advising services to NSCC students with an emphasis on Early Admit students. Initiate and maintain relationships with faculty and other campus resources in helping students achieve academic goals. Work hours may vary with events and may include early morning, late evening, and occasional weekends within the 40-hour week. DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Prior experience in student advising and recruitment preferred. Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: -Excellent communication skills both written and oral; Excellent presentations skills; Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people; Ability to prioritize tasks; Ability to travel to various locations; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Become knowledgeable and adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and requirements; Ability to build good rapport with a variety of constituents; Service oriented attitude; Ability to learn easily and disseminate detailed information; Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others or in teams; Detailed oriented; Ability to work with complex systems in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; Flexible, patient, creative; and Skills in problem solving. Provide admissions advising to students, including high school students in dual enrollment programs, such as College Credit Plus. Advise students on academic pathways, course selection, prerequisites and offerings in person, via phone, e-mail or other delivery formats as needed. Assist with registration of early admit students into qualified college classes. Serve as a liaison between the college and high school counselors for early admit programs. Actively recruit early admit students to continue their education at NSCC after high school graduation. This includes meeting with early admit students and parents, giving campus tours, visiting high schools, etc. Provide referrals to appropriate college personnel for advising, registration, and student services needs as needed. Assist with the design, facilitation and presentation of informational programs to students, parents and high school personnel for Early Admit Program including new student orientation, book delivery and collection. Assist with COMPASS Assessment for early admit students. Maintain confidentiality of student records and other confidential or sensitive information. Maintain records of advising. Develop and maintain term and year-end reports. LICENSING AND REGULATION None required TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED Personal computers and other general office equipment; Banner software including DegreeWorks and Argos reporting.
