NYS NEVADA 11 MAN
SPRING 2015 WEEK ONE PREVIEWS
LV Saints (0-0) VS DS Predators (0-0) – BANTAM DIVISION
Where: Del Sol HS
When: 10:00 AM
The defending Bantam Division champions kickoff their Spring 2015 season in their new
home of Del Sol High School. The Predators will look to begin their title defense in a big
way as they take on one of the newcomers to the Bantam Division in the Las Vegas Saints.
The Predators however have their work cut out for them this season as they will have to
play without their do it all MVP running back Logann Britt who is out for the year with an
injury. The Predators will look to rely on some old faces and new to carry the load this
season. Tobin Wagge and Brendan Mills will need to raise their game while new additions
Kobe Hendericks and Korbin Koch will hope to play big roles quickly if the Predators want to
stay on the hunt. The Saints meanwhile march into Del Sol High School with plenty of
confidence behind Head Coach Henry Crockett. The Saints will look to Isaac Godinez and
X’Avion Smith to lead the way week 1 as they look to get off to a quick start and take down
the defending champions.
702 49ers (0-0) VS HG Wolf Pack (0-0) – BANTAM DIVISION
Where: Basic HS
When: 1:30 PM
Two Bantam Division teams certainly on the rise will be showcased at Basic High School in
this matchup as the 49ers and Wolf Pack do battle. The visiting 49ers are led by Malik
Stinnett and Ericc Hampton as they look to come out with a golden week 1 victory. Head
Coach Kui Fotu hopes he has his Bantam squad set to take on the howling Wolf Pack led by
their steady Head Coach Alonzo McAllister. Coach McAllister will look to his nephew
Trevaughn McAllister to lead this Bantam Division squad this season. McAllister, Asthon
Bond, and the rest of the Pack have some mighty sharp teeth that are as ready as ever to
chomp into the rest of the Bantam Division competition, so look out this weekend for this
great opening game at Basic High School.
702 49ers (0-0) VS Mojave Green Machine (0-0) – CADET DIVISION
Where: Mojave HS
When: 3:15 PM
With the defending champions in the Cadet Division not staying together as a team, the
crown of champions is up for taking! The 49ers and Green Machine look to lay claim to that
title with a week 1 victory at Mojave High School this Saturday. The 49ers travel north with
Head Coach Dequa Coleman in charge looking to make a statement with a big win. The
49ers will rely on Jayshaun Coleman, Ryan Hermann, and Christian Hodgdon to come out
with a win here in week #1. The Green Machine meanwhile will be looking to make a strong
statement as part of the Mojave High School family here in week 1 as well. The Green
Machine will look to Julian Rojan and Julio Alfaro to lead the way in this matchup.
AV Aggies (0-0) VS BG Gators (0-0) – CADET DIVISION
Where: Ed Fountain Field #8
When: 3:15 PM
The Aggies and Gators clash to finish off a day’s battle between these two programs at Ed
Fountain Park. The Aggies come back to NYS with an even larger camp this season looking
to earn more than one title. That being said, Coach Brett Ridneour’s team has a ton of new
faces to NYS, so we aren’t sure what to expect! The Gators meanwhile will be looking to
take a chomp out of the Aggies early in week 1 as they hope to make Ed Fountain their
swamp in week 1. Isaac Arreola, Shamar Dupree, and Sabastian Shannon will look to lead
their Gators squad to victory in this showdown.
LV Cowboys (0-0) VS 702 49ers Gold (0-0) – PEE WEE DIVISION
Where: Liberty HS
When: 8:15 AM
The Pee Wee Division kicks off with a bang of a matchup week 1 as two of the top
contenders for the Pee Wee Division title face off at Liberty High School. This game should
be nothing less than an old west style shootout. The Las Vegas Cowboys come in the
defending champions. The Cowboys have rallied off 3 straight Nevada State Championships
under Head Coach Derric Marshall and are hungry for more. Michael Feguson, Majic
McMillion, and Dylan Anderson lead a very talented Cowboys group that is hoping to flex its
muscles with a statement win in week #1. On the other hand, the 49ers Gold squad has
been on the cusp of glory these past 3 Pee Wee seasons. Having a pair of 2 nd place finishes
and a semifinal appearance eating at them in their past 3 seasons, this squad is ready to
step into the spotlight as champions. If the 49ers want to take that leap, Branko Hansell
Fotu, Nicholas Hodgdon, and Ronnie Hinkle need to play like men amongst boys.
TC Bulldogs (0-0) VS HG Bearcats (0-0) – PEE WEE DIVISION
Where: Basic HS
When: 8:15 AM
The TC Bulldogs look to make a barking entrance into NYS as they look to conquer the
clawing Bearcats at Basic High School in their first NYS matchup. The Bulldogs feature
some familiar players, including Alexander Inoke and Amari Jimmerson. However for the
most part, this team is a big unknown. Will they have enough to keep up with the powerful
Cats? The Bearcats meanwhile have been building very nicely with this Pee Wee team over
the past seasons. This group is led by perennial MVP Candidate Donavyn Pellot. Pellot is a
game changer with the football in his hands and will look to find the comfortable end zone
at Basic High School often Saturday morning.
LV Ducks (0-0) VS Cimarron Storm (0-0) – PEE WEE DIVISION
Where: Cimarron HS
When: 8:15 AM
The Ducks and Storm kick off a great day of action at Cimarron High School with a Pee Wee
Division battle that should be a close back and forth matchup. The Ducks come in quacking
behind Tristan Venegas and Peyton Boice and will look to take flight early in the season and
fly past the Storm at Cimarron High School. The Storm meanwhile will be taking to the field
for the first time in program history and aiming to bring some serious thunder. Led by
Quadja Carter and Trey’Shaun Jackson, the Storm will look to keep the Ducks grounded as
they search for their programs first ever victory.
LV Bengals (0-0) VS HG Cowboys (0-0) – PEE WEE DIVISION
Where: Liberty HS
When: 1:30 PM
The Las Vegas Bengals and Henderson Cowboys look to square off week #1 in search for a
hot start to their Spring 2015 season. The Bengals showed plenty of promise in their first
season last Fall, and will be growling for more this Saturday as they look to roar their way
past the Henderson Cowboys. X’Zavier Christopher and Brayden Lozada look to show their
stripes in week 1 and race past the Cowboys at Liberty High School. The Cowboys
meanwhile will look to tame the cats on their home field this weekend and get out to a 1-0
record of their own. Dontrell Bealer and Isaiah Ramos headline an experience Pee Wee
Division squad looking to come out of the holster firing. Expect an even battle in this one
where controlling the clock will be key to the outcome.
LV Cowboys (0-0) VS HG Cowboys (0-0) – MIDGET DIVISION
Where: Liberty HS
When: 10:00 AM
A battle of the Cowboys takes center stage in the Midget Division when the Las Vegas
Cowboys travel south to do battle with the Henderson Cowboys at Liberty High School.
Jekhi Thomas and Jaylin Morrison lead the Las Vegas Cowboys posse as they hope to prove
that their star is the brightest star in the Midget Division this Spring. The Henderson
Cowboys meanwhile come in with a bitter taste in their mouths, having come up just short
last Fall season in the championship game. The Cowboys will look to prove that they are
the sheriffs of the Midget Division with a strong start against their Cowboys counterparts.
HC will look to Levi Futon and Justyn Rhett to lead them this season and this Saturday in
what should be a tremendous showdown at the Liberty corral.
702 49ers (0-0) VS Mojave Green Machine (0-0) – MIDGET DIVISION
Where: Mojave HS
When: 10:00 AM
The 702 49ers have had their grips on the Midget Division crown for the past year and will
be looking to make a statement in week 1 that they are still at the top of their game and
expect to remain in charge. Head Coach JR Ladislao has an experienced and talented bunch
that is led by Zephaniah Maea and Isaiah Hampton. The question with this group is, they
still hungry after back to back championship runs? The Mojave Green Machine will look to
challenge the 49ers and steal their gold in this week 1 battle at Mojave High School. The
Green Machine comes in behind Anthony Ford and Andrew Juarez who will be pushing to
race the Green Machine to victory. The question of the day is will the Green Machine have
enough gas to upset the defending champs?
AV Aggies (0-0) VS BG Gators (0-0) – MIDGET DIVISION
Where: Ed Fountain Field #8
When: 10:00 AM
The Arbor View Aggies have come back to National Youth Sports, and this time with a full
camps worth of teams. The Aggies come in looking to prove why they have been one of the
elite camps in southern Nevada. Most of the names are new to NYS, so it’s difficult to say
what this team is going to look like, but if they are anything like the other Aggies teams we
have seen, they will be well coached and disciplined. The Bishop Gorman Gators meanwhile
will look to welcome them to NYS In their own special way. The Gators will look to chomp
down on a new season where they hope to come back from a rough season that saw none
of their teams make a championship game. The Gators will look to Jeremiah Hughes and
Kyri Shoels to elate the Gators faithful early in week #1 at Ed Fountain Park.
LV Cowboys (0-0) VS HG Cowboys (0-0) – MINOR DIVISION
Where: Liberty HS
When: 11:45 AM
In the 2nd of two battles between Cowboys, the Las Vegas Cowboys and Henderson
Cowboys faceoff Saturday afternoon at Liberty High School. The Las Vegas Cowboys under
the tutelage of Head Coach Leon Harrison will be looking to return to their championship
caliber. Evan Olaes and Jaden Pollard will be looking to light up the scoreboard for the Las
Vegas Cowboys as they hope to take down the defending champion Henderson Cowboys.
HC meanwhile was mighty impressive last season in winning the Minor Division
Championship in an epic showdown with the Green Machine. Last Fall’s team was pretty
good, but if things come together as planned, this group is even better! Micah Bowens and
Stetler Harms highlighted an impressive roster that was good enough for a State
Championship, but add the likes of Zyrus Fiaseu, Ishe Smith, and Maurice Hampton, and
“Oh My Gosh” is all you can say. The Henderson Cowboys have all the talent in the world,
but there is only one football, so how will all that talent work together? We’ll find out a lot
week 1 in this strong showdown to kick off the season.
702 49ers (0-0) VS Mojave Green Machine (0-0) – MINOR DIVISION
Where: Mojave HS
When: 11:45 AM
The 702 49ers and Mojave Green Machine were two of the teams that were on the cusp of a
Fall championship and came up just short this past season, as they both fell to the eventual
champion Henderson Cowboys in the semifinals and finals respectively. The 49ers fell in the
semifinals but are hungry for a golden finish this time around. Let by Dexter “Maverick”
Campbell and Christian Ladislao the 49ers hope to dig out a victory to start their 2015
season. The Green Machine meanwhile was inches away from a championship, and that has
been doing nothing less than eating away from Head Coach Randy Alvarez for the last 3
plus months. The Green Machine will be roaring their engines ready to roll week 1 behind
Deshawn Noble, Ishad Livingson, and Elijah Alvarez as they will be looking to race back to
the Championship. Expect offense, offense, and more offense in this battle between two of
the division’s top dogs at Mojave High School this weekend.
AV Aggies (0-0) VS BG Gators (0-0) – MINOR DIVISION
Where: Ed Fountain Field #8
When: 11:45 AM
This might be the biggest battle of 4 between the Aggies and Gators at Ed Fountain Park
here in week #1. The Aggies team comes in as defending champions from another league
and shows a ton of promise in this division. That being said, this team is new to NYS and
stepping up to a whole different level of competition, so this should be a fantastic gauge on
how the Aggies will stack up here this Spring. The Gators meanwhile have undergone a
coaching change here in the Minor Division and looking to get back on track in their own
way. The Gators will look to chomp their way to a win behind Dumarier Alexander and
Kenneth Fladger in what should be an epic showdown to kick off the Spring 2015 Season!
LV Saints (0-0) VS DS Predators (0-0) – MIDDLE SCHOOL DIVISION
Where: Del Sol HS
When: 1:30 PM
Talk about two teams that are full of questions! The Saints and Predators might be the two
most interesting unknowns in recent NYS history of the Middle School Division. Most Middle
School Division teams have a mostly known quality, but these two squads remain a
question heading into week #1. The Saints are led by Head Coach Eric Lyons who has an
impressive history dating back to his days as the Las Vegas Statllions Head that won the
final Senior Division National Championship Game played in San Diego. Will this Saints
team live up to that impressive history? The Del Sol Predators will certainly look to
challenge that legacy as they make their home at Del Sol High School. The Predators and
Head Coach Will Ishman feature a retooled and molded roster that hopes to play with
divisions top squads. This will certainly be an entertaining and informative showdown at Del
Sol this weekend.
HG Federals (0-0) VS Cimarron Storm (0-0) – MIDDLE SCHOOL DIVISION
Where: Cimarron HS
When: 1:30 PM
The Henderson Federals are the defending Middle School Division champions, coming in
having looked fantastic last Fall in their championship showdown victory over the Green
Valley Knights. It’s been a bit of a rough offseason for the defending champions however as
quarterback Tyler Saxton will be out for a while after hand surgery and a few others have
found their way onto new rosters. That being said, this is still a very good squad. Reigning
MVP Troy Fautanu is still highlighting a backfield that also has Steve “Tiltee” Torres and
newcomer Austin Fiaseu. On the flip side, looking to rain on the the reigning champions
parade are the Cimarron Storm. The Storm Middle School squad features quite a few
familiar faces including Wunya Lynum and Elijah Robinson. This should be an interesting
battle that will tell us a lot about how these two teams will look this season.
HG Cowboys (0-0) VS HG Wolf Pack (0-0) – MIDDLE SCHOOL DIVISION
Where: Basic HS
When: 3:15 PM
A battle of long time Henderson foes takes center stage at Basic High School to finish out
the afternoon as the Cowboys take on the Wolf Pack. The Henderson Cowboys suffered a
shocking semifinal loss in the Fall season to the Green Valley Knights despite having a
perfect regular season. The Cowboys will be looking to reverse those fortunes and push to
get back to their winning ways with a week 1 victory over the Cowboys. The Cowboys will
look to Micah Bowens and Richard Brewer to lead them to the winners circle in week 1. The
Wolf Pack meanwhile howls their way back into the Middle School Division behind an
impressive retooled roster. Dorian McAllister and Franco Mays lead a very talented core of
skill players that will have their hands full with the massive size of the Cowboys. Either
way, expect an entertaining back and forth battle to kick off this Middle School season!
