New Zealand School of Dance Winter School 2015

Please Note:
 Due to the increased number of enrolments over the past few years, places are limited
and early booking is essential. Many classes fill before the closing date.
 Applications will be processed in order of date received.
 Senior level students can choose either Classical Repertoire (including Pointe) or Contemporary Repertoire.
 The timetable remains the same daily, Monday to Friday.
 Private lessons are not available.
Registration Fee:
A registration fee of $60.00 must be paid by all students. This fee is additional to course fees, and covers administration
costs. If two children from the same immediate family are enrolling for the full course at Winter School only one registration
fee is required.
Payment:
Whilst one full payment for Winter School is preferred at the time of application, part payment is an option. A deposit of no
less than $250.00 including registration fee may be sent with the application form, provided the balance is paid by Tuesday
26 May.
Refunds:
If due to injury or ill-health it is necessary for a student to withdraw from the course the refund policy is as follows:
 Students withdrawing before 25 June 2015 will be entitled to a refund of 80% of the course fees upon presentation of a
medical certificate. The registration fee is non-refundable.
 Students withdrawing after 25 June 2015 will not be entitled to a refund under any circumstances.
Scholarships:
Scholarships are awarded annually at each level during the Winter School. The winners are judged on motivation and dedication
in all areas and will be awarded a scholarship covering full course fees only (not including RAD), to the following year’s Winter
School. Only students attending the full course are eligible for consideration. Scholarships will be awarded on Friday 10 July. This
will not alter Friday’s scheduled classes.
Class Observation:
The cost for teachers to observe classes is $300.00 for the whole week or $70.00 per day.
No registration fee is required, but teachers must enrol by completing the application form and making payment.
Parents/guardians are not permitted to view classes from Monday to Thursday. There will be an Open Day on Friday 10 July,
and parents are invited into the studio to observe classes from start to finish. A maximum of two people per student will be
granted entry, and each student may have observers in two classes only. Pre booking is essential and can be made from
Tuesday 7 July at reception. Photographs and filming of these classes is prohibited. Teachers may attend on the Friday but
must pay the observation fee (above).
Allocation Request:
Students working at the same level may request to be placed in the same class as another student for transportation reasons
only. This request should be indicated on each student’s application form. The School will endeavour to fulfil this request but
offers no guarantee.
Waiver Statement:
Dance training and the athletic exercises associated with it place unusual stress on the body and carry the risk of physical
injury. The New Zealand School of Dance will not be liable in any way for injury sustained through participation in classes or
related activities. Dance training involves physical ‘hands on’ adjustment of the student’s body by the tutor.
Unless notified to the contrary, it is understood that the parent/guardian grants permission for the management, faculty or
staff of the New Zealand School of Dance to authorise any emergency medical care deemed necessary whilst on site.
