Talent Showcase

Contest Rules and
Guidelines:
Please Read Thoroughly
Registration and (Auditions if required):
• Only one entry per performer
• If you are 17 years old or younger, you must have a
parent or legal guardian they sign the waiver form.
• If you are completely registered before the deadline,
you will be contacted by the Talent Showcase
committee with your date, time slot and more info
soon after the deadline. If you fail or are unable to
perform during your slot, we cannot guarantee you
another.
• You must show up at least an hour before your
scheduled time slot with the signed
waiver and some form of ID
• You will have 2 minutes to perform your talent for
the judges.
• The Talent Showcase committee will notify you if
you are chosen to perform in final show.
• Those not chosen to perform in final show is
welcome to volunteer and help out with the
final show.
Final Show:
• If you are notified that you were chosen to perform in the final show, you
must respond confirming that you will perform within 72 hours of being
notified - failure to do so will result in you forfeiting your slot.
• For the final show, you will have a 4-minute time limit for your
performance. This does not include set up time. Judges will deduct points
should you go over your time limit.
• The top three performers in all divisions will be awarded cash prizes at the
final show only.
Additional Information:
• Your performance must be appropriate and safe for a general audience.
• You are to provide your own music CD for any performances needing
music.
• You will be responsible for all of your own belongings.
• You are responsible for your own props and equipment.
• You will be judged by judges in the following categories: overall
performance, audience response, stage appearance, originality and
personality
• You will be deducted points if you don’t follow the Talent Showcase rules.
• The judges’ decision is final.
• Any deliberate harassment from performers towards judges or other
contestants will be disqualified.
• Any destruction of property or theft of any kind will result in
disqualification.
Participation Waiver and Talent Release
I agree that I, and not the Village of Oil Springs or Talent Showcase committee, am responsible for my safety while I participate in the
Village of Oil Springs Talent Showcase contest and for the costs resulting from any injury I may suffer from this project.
I hereby release the Village of Oil Springs and/or its volunteers and sponsors, related organizers and any or all persons connected with
this contest from all liability for any injuries or damages incurred as a result of my participation in this project. This release extends to all
claims of every kind or nature whatsoever, foreseen or unforeseen, known or unknown.
I agree that I, and not the Village of Oil Springs or Talent Showcase committee, am responsible for my own belongings, equipment,
props and any other personal items while I participate in the Village of Oil Springs Talent Showcase contest. I release the Village of Oil
Springs or Talent Showcase committee, of any responsibility for any damaged or lost items while participating in the Village of Oil Springs
Talent Showcase event.
I give my permission to the Village of Oil Springs or Talent Showcase committee, and its affiliates and related organizers to use my
name and any photographs for any promotional purposes without obligation or liability to me.
