MARRIAGE REFERENDUM
Next Friday is voting day in the Marriage Referendum. We urge you in line with the Bishops
Conference to reflect deeply before changing the constitution. The Diocesan Newsletter issues 8 and 9 which are available as you leave the church
today cover some of the serious aspects to be considered. .e.g. Bishop Leo O’Reilly: “I ask you to think of the wider consequences of this
referendum passing. I have serious concerns about the blunt refusal to give any real guarantees regarding freedom of religion in relation to the
referendum.” See comments by other Bishops also.
Please take a copy home with you, be informed, reflect, pray and vote.
