PARISH NEWS
ALLELUIA – REJOICE – HE IS RISEN
He is Risen, indeed! Easter blessings to one and all!
In the spirit of Easter joy and hope, and united as
God’s family here at OLR, special thanks and words
of appreciation go out to everyone who had any part
in helping us celebrate Holy Week and Easter in such
inspirational and uplifting ways. Your help made
our celebration truly a worthy reflection of God’s
love at work in our midst. God can be no less than
pleased, and without doubt, will return to you the
blessing that you are for our parish!
MARY’S TEA
The final planning for Mary’s Tea will be held on
April 14th at 6:30 p.m. in the parish hall. Anyone
interested in helping with this event is invited to
attend. If you cannot attend but wish to help, contact
Debbie Gottshall at [email protected] or
Ann Nagle at 610-383-4847.
APPRECIATION
We would like to thank the Jr. CYO and Teen Life
groups for hosting the Easter Egg Hunt last weekend.
There were plenty of smiles and all the children had a
wonderful time!
HOLY NAME SOCIETY
The next meeting for the Holy Name Society will be
held next Sunday, April 12th beginning with the
rosary at 6:45 p.m.
A special thanks to all the Bakers of OLR for
donating such delicious goodies to the Bake Sale and
those that volunteered to work at the Bake Sale last
weekend. We truly appreciate all your hard work!
The Sodality would also like to thank all those that
supported the fundraiser.
EASTER FLOWERS
A booklet containing the list of donors and their
intentions for the decorations used during this Easter
Season can be found on the entrance tables in church.
Thank you for your help in decorating our church so
beautifully!!
MAY DAY
Our annual May Day Procession to honor the
Blessed Virgin Mary will be held Sunday, May 3rd at
12:15 p.m. All our parishioners are urged to
participate in this traditional observance in honor of
our Lady. Sodality members, Holy Name Society
members, all the Altar Servers (vested), all the
children in our PREP program (3 year nursery to 12th
grade) or attending Catholic schools and this years’
Communion and Confirmation class (in robes) are
strongly encouraged to participate. We hope to see
all the members of the parish for the procession and
the crowning of Mary’s statue.
MONDAY ROSARY
All are invited to join us at 7:00 p.m. We will be
praying the Luminous Mysteries.
SODALITY
The Sodality meeting will feature a Covered Dish
Dinner on Tuesday, April 14th in the parish hall. The
main meat entrée and drinks will be provided. Side
dishes and desserts will be needed. The nomination
of officers will also be held at this meeting.
NEW ALTAR SERVERS
Registration forms for new Altar Servers are
available on the bulletin boards at the church
entranceways. Any parish child (4th grade or above)
who would like to offer their service to God and our
parish in this special ministry, is invited to take one
of these forms, fill in the necessary information and
return it to Father Brennan no later than April 15th.
PRE-JORDAN
Parents and godparents presenting a child for
Baptism need to attend a preparation class in order
to be properly informed about the meaning of the
Sacrament of Baptism. The next class will be held
on Monday, April 6th at 7:00 p.m. in the last
classroom in the parish hall. To register, call Mrs.
Coxson at 610-384-5560.
PLEASE NOTE: Do not assume any date for
baptism before confirming the date with Father
Brennan. Before any date is finalized, all forms and
eligibility letters need to be delivered to the rectory.
PREP NEWS
The PREP program will end with the children
attending the May Procession on Sunday, May 3rd.
The PREP students will sit as a class at the 11:30
a.m. Mass. The First Communion and Confirmation
classes should wear their sacramental robes. This is
the last PREP class for the year.
Registration forms for 2015-2016 PREP classes will
be available next Sunday on all the tables at the
Church entranceways. Please register early, as this
enables us to obtain books and supplies in plenty of
time. Early registration needs to be submitted by
July 1st. Registrations received after July 1st will
incur a late fee. The reason being that it will then
cost us more to get needed supplies for your children.
Your cooperation is appreciated.
Parents who are anticipating their children receiving
First
Penance,
First
Communion
and/or
Confirmation this coming school year should keep
an eye on the parish Sunday bulletin for information
on parents’ meetings, children’s enrollment and
other information regarding the celebrations for
these Sacraments.
This year’s program has been a smooth and terrific
year. If anyone is interested in volunteering for our
next year’s program, please call our PREP directors,
Paul Friel (610-857-9091) or Jackie Townsley (610384-4482).
