Our sommelier, Thierry Berson has a wonderful shop –“Atout VIns” in Place Saint Pierre, 5 mins from the Chateau. Having spent 8 years in the UK working with Gordon Ramsay at Petrus and Michelle Roux at Le Gavroche, Thierry and his wife, Sandrine moved back to his native Loire in 2001 to fulfill his passion and set up Atout Vins. We are fortunate to have this exceptional expertise within close proximity! You will benefit from Thierry’s passion and knowledge on your Optimum Living Retreats experience, as he will be pairing a wonderful local wine for each of our nutritionally inspired gourmet dinners. In addition he will also host a wine appreciation session, where he will introduce you to some renowned regional wines and will also discuss how wine can feature as part of a balanced and healthy diet. You may like to visit Atout Vins during your stay where you can discuss your favourite wines and purchase directly from Thierry; the region is famous for its “bubbles” and you will find some fabulous choices from a very modest budget to the more extravagant. The spectacular opening of the champagne with a sabre sword is not to be missed…!
