CEO and General Counsel Panel (10:30-11:30am) Description & Purpose This panel will feature a group of CEO and general counsel who are strong allies and advocates for the LGBT community. Each leader will share tactics and tools for other executives to promote LGBT equality in the U.S. and around the world. Panelists will also discuss Out Leadership’s executive business briefs and other research initiatives that are relevant to in house counsel and the C-suite. Moderator ● Richard A. Through hearing from attorneys and clients who have brought about social impact through their collaboration, participants will gain a greater understanding of how cooperative efforts between law firms and their clients advance LGBT inclusion and equality. The panel will also outline best practices for working together toward corporate good, social impact, and business development, particularly in the LGBT space. It will then pivot to a group discussion focused on effective ways that public legal officials can take proactive steps towards furthering LGBT equality. From refusing to defend unconstitutional bans against same sex marriage in court, to establishing LGBT-inclusive corporate policy as a criterion for state government pension investments, this panel will explore the multifaceted means that Attorneys General have at their disposal to foster greater equality for the LGBT community.
