Connect Announcements
God created us to live in relationship with one another and to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.
We hope our community is a place where Jesus is experienced so that both our own lives and our city are
changed.
Community Groups are groups of people who gather in homes and offices around Los Angeles to know and
care for one another, pray, study the Bible, and serve our neighbors by promoting justice in our city. These
groups are not only one of the best ways to meet people at Pacific Crossroads – they are one of the best ways
to experience everything we talk, pray, and sing about on Sundays.

Good Friday Service. Join us April 3 for our very first Good Friday service at 7:00 pm at Santa Monica
High School. In preparation for Easter Sunday, we will remember the sufferings of Christ through Scripture
readings, songs, and a short message from Rankin. Learn more at PacificCrossroads.org/Easter.
Bring a Friend on Easter Sunday! Join us April 5 for Easter! The choir will be singing at all three services,
and we will be sharing stories and celebrating baptisms and rededications. We’ll also hear a solo from
Jubilant Sykes and a special Easter message from Rankin. Visit PacificCrossroads.org/Easter.
Serve on Easter Sunday. Be a part of one of our Easter volunteer teams! We are looking for extra help in the
following areas: Ushering, Greeting, Parking, and Hospitality. To sign up, email [email protected]
by March 31, and let us know whether you’d like to serve at the 9:00 am, 11:00 am, or 5:00 pm service.
New Life in Christ. We will be celebrating baptisms and rededications on Easter Sunday at all three
services. If you would like to share the new life you’ve recently experienced in Jesus, please email
[email protected].
Pre-Marriage Seminar, April 11. If you’re recently married or thinking of getting engaged, the next PreMarriage Seminar is April 11. The seminar includes biblical teaching about marriage from several married

Movie Night, April 18. Come join us at the church office on Saturday, April 18, 5:00 pm, to test your
movie trivia and watch Big Hero 6. Bring your friends and neighbors and meet new people. Learn more at

Spring Sling Barbecue. Youth Ministry will have a barbecue for West LA youth and their families on
Saturday, April 18. Come play big ball soccer, dodgeball, and other fun games and get to know one another.

Exploring Jesus Dinners. Exploring Jesus Dinners start the week of April 20. Sign up with friends who are
not Christians for our six-week dinner discussion series about faith. Groups will meet all over town. For

Family Fun Event at La Brea Tar Pits. The Children’s Ministry is hosting a picnic lunch and museum tour
at the La Brea Tar Pits on Saturday, April 25. Join us to connect with one another, meet new friends, and
partake in a fun activity in the city we all love! Sign up at PacificCrossroads.org/Events.
Nursery Worker. Children’s Ministry is looking for a nursery worker for two-year-olds on Sunday mornings
from 8:00 am-1:00 pm. If interested, please email [email protected].
Bulletin Artwork. For the current Gospel of John sermon series, the church bulletins will be featuring
visual art from people in our community. You can look at our recent cover art and find out how to submit

Hope for LA
Celebrate Recovery is a place where we can join together to celebrate God’s healing power in our lives.
We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, we
become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives’ problems. Join us on Tuesdays at 6:45 pm at
1133 7th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90403 (Joslyn Hall Building at Christine Emerson Reed Park). Dinner

Friday, 4/3 – Prep Breakfast Downtown at URM (5:45 - 8:30 am)
Prepare and serve breakfast at Union Rescue Mission, a shelter that provides food, shelter, and recovery
programs for people on Skid Row. Volunteer names are required by Wednesday evening. RSVP to Ryan
at [email protected].
Pastoral Care. The church is meant to be a community where hurting people can come to be cared for,
comforted, and healed by the power of the gospel. If you are in a difficult place and would like to speak to

Global Missions
Partner Update: East Asia. Ken and Jane (pseudonyms) are leaders for a campus and church planting
mission organization in East Asia. They oversee local house churches and work to connect nationals and
students to these communities. Please pray that God would protect Ken and Jane, and that His truth
would spread in this country that has not been open to the gospel.
Prayer
This week, please pray for worship. Please pray that we will be a community that worships God publicly
and privately. Pray that we will learn how to meditate on the Bible so that we can experience worship as a
way of life. Pray that our corporate worship will be a celebration where Jesus is lifted high. Pray also that
God will powerfully reveal Himself so that we will deeply love and trust Him.
Pre-Service Prayer. Join us as we pray for our church on Sundays. The prayer times are 8:30-8:50 am in
room H201 in the History Building at Samohi, and 4:30-4:50 pm in the Vestry (behind the Gold Chapel)

Hope for LA mobilizes volunteers to serve the poor and marginalized in Los Angeles through partnerships with

Love and encourage the elderly residents of the dementia ward in the Santa Monica Convalescent Center

Saturday, 4/4 – Easter Outreach at Faith in Christ Ministries (10:00 am - 2:00 pm)
Volunteer at an Easter Outreach event at Faith In Christ Ministries in South LA. Volunteers will help
with set-up, games, crafts, lunch, and clean-up. Contact Monica at [email protected] to
sign up.
Saturday, 4/4 – Serve Dinner at PATH West LA (4:30 - 7:00 pm)
Cook, serve, and talk with men and women at PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) in West LA.

Tuesday, 4/7 – Serve Dessert at Elizabeth House (7:00 - 8:30 pm)
Join us as we fellowship, enjoy dessert, and pray with the ladies at Elizabeth House in Pasadena.
Elizabeth House provides shelter and support to homeless pregnant women and their children,

Friday, 4/10 – Cook Dinner for Youth (7:30 - 10:00 pm)
Cook dinner for kids at the OASIS of Hollywood, a safe place for at-risk youth to have fun and hear a
message of hope. Contact Garrett at [email protected].
Saturday, 4/11 – Serve at a Clothing Ministry (10:00 am - 1:00 pm)
Volunteers are needed to organize and help give out clothing donations. Highway Ministries in South
LA gives out donated clothes to neighbors in need every first Saturday. Lunch will be served. Contact

Saturday, 4/11 – Cook Dinner at PATH Silver Lake (3:00 - 7:30 pm)
Cook, serve, and talk with men and women at PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) in Silver Lake. We
will start cooking for 100 people at 3:00 pm and will serve at 6:00 pm. Email [email protected].
