JESUS HEALS A BLIND MAN 03-22-2015 -JOHN 9:1-11 PERSONALIZING THE MESSAGE THIS WEEK So often we live our lives looking down, preoccupied with our own thoughts and concerns. As a result we may be blinded to God’s present activity in our lives, not to mention the needs of those around us everyday. The following are possible exercises toward watchfulness. 1. Take a walk or go to a park. Intentionally leave your cell phone in the car. Find a place to sit down and close your eyes. What do you hear? The birds, breeze, footsteps, children playing, laughing, etc... Open your eyes and slowly look around. What do you observe? 2. This week, during idle moments like waiting to be seated at a restaurant, before an appointment and the like, refrain from occupying this time with a cell phone. Instead, utilize this opportunity and look around, observe, think, wonder, question, imagine. Use these moments to talk to God about what you see, hear, and sense. 1720 E.
