Mr Ying-Chao Kuo
Bio-Architecture Formosana

Ying-Chao Kuo was born in 1954 in Tainan, Taiwan. He studied
architecture in Cheng-Kong University (graduated in 1982) and
received his master degree in architecture from UCLA in 1988.
Ying-Chao worked in Moore Ruble Yudell from 1987-1989 as an
intern and continued to work for the firm after he graduated
from UCLA until 1993.
Ying-Chao found bio-architecture Formosana (baF) - a Taipei
based architectural design firm with his partner Ching-Hwa
Chang in 1997. baF has been one of the leading architecture
firms in Taiwan, and its works range from culture, education,
transportation, hospitality facilities, workplaces and housing for
both public and private sections. Their Bei-Tou Library- the most
published Green building in Taiwan was selected as one of the
25 most beautiful community libraries in the world.

YP Yap is a founding partner of y.architects. Based in Johor
Bahru, the office is driven with a strong design focus motivated
by the desire to create an appropriate built environment.
They hinge their design ideals on modernism, adhering to

20 years of architectural practice. Nick has worked on a wide
range of primary health & aged care facilities (high care). This is
balanced with a considerable portfolio of experience in high end
retail, tourism, resort hotel, and resort residential projects.

Working at director level, while maintaining a very hands-on
design architect and project architect role, Nick has enjoyed
developing strong client liaison skills and project management

highly acclaimed and have brought considerable commercial
success to his clients.
